$50 says that skimmer costs more than my house, and then with that $50 i win i might be able to buy one of the 45 degree elbows used to plumb that skimmer.... WOW

Real-estate must be cheap in Alaska! I'm still tempted to take you up on the bet...

I hope to get water in it by mid March and first livestock in by Easter (late April this year).

I can guarantee you that this won't be one of those "instant showpiece" tanks that people seem to produce these days. I have a core belief that slow and steady results in less livestock loss.

One of the best builds I have ever seen. I cant wait to see it come together. I was thinking about upgrading to 1000 gallons and this is amazing. Watching this thread for along time. Keep the pics and ifo coming. Two thumbs up for the build!

That's the way how I would do it as well. I made some misstakes while stocking to quick. With a tank this size you'll have all time in the world.

Great statement

By the way superb tank and house set up.

Greatings Ralph

This will surely have to be the most spectacular private aquarium, this side of Dubai. If I may ask, how many years went into the planning of this build...? It seems you have covered everything to the last detail, from the house to the tank itself, the support systems...the list goes on.

You will have to receive some sort of national recognition for this effort, surely. Could we convince Julia and Quentin to offer you an Order of Australia?? ;)

Wow

Wow

Another great RC documented build !! Diablo, this is going to look amazing once completed. Congrats. Love the architecture of your home. Tagging along.

Any idea where you're going to find to the time to make that many frags?
Its about 20 frags per week... Sounds like an hour or two on a Sunday morning.

which lfs did you go with?
The tanks were commissioned by Reef and River in Geelong.

Not sure about that, but thanks!

The design was pulled together over ~5 years, but more intensively over a 2 year period. Google Sketchup has been a godsend.

That would be nice... although I'd prefer to be knighted.

To all well wishers... thank you.

So why havent i seen this on masa????

I will post on RTAW once I am close to filling with water. During the build I have barely had time to maintain one thread, let alone two, and on reef central I have access to a broader range of large tank experience.
