2300G Cylinder - Preview

I think the magnified/ distorted look of the corals would be a nice change from the incredibly common and at this point (for me at least) boring look of standard flat glass aquariums. I am aware that the light is not necessarily altered however I just like the idea of a change in the look of standard corals.

Do you have covers for your light tubes?

I have a few in my filtration shed I am building.

I just finished getting some mud on the sheetrock, the mud drying in the room was enough to cause a lot of condensation to go up the tube and cause droplets to form on the lens. I had to take the cover off to get mud on the wall next to it, but I am pretty surprised by how much condensation went up that tube just by mud drying in the room.

I'll have to go up on the roof and pull that cover off to wipe that one out. The other two are fine.

I do, but I haven't mounted them yet. Will do so over the next couple of weeks. No condensation problems so far, but it is the warm part of the year here. Your shed is looking good, BTW!

Very impressed with the MRC skimmer. Started producing foam within 2 minutes of being turned on. Tank water has cleared substantially in under 24 hrs.

Very cool, yeah when I saw those tubes and thought about all of those water droplets forming on mine I thought I would mention it. But there is quite a temp difference from the inside of the shed (keeping it heated while the mud dries) and outside. I live in Minnesota and it's getting pretty cold here. So that may be a contributing factor.

Thanks for the kind words on the shed, looking forward to the real fun - the fishroom. You guys will laugh when you see the tiny corner of the house I get to call mine. But I did get to build the shed so I can't really complain.

water level in the skimmer looks a little low......
you might want to bump it up after it runs for a while and breaks in... (i would put it about where the neck is.)

but this thing is starting to take off!!!!!

Congrats!! I've been waiting a long time to see this project come alive.
Very well thought out planning to create an awsome build. Keep up the great work!!!

woohoo! progress! So excited for you! thanks for keeping us in the loop Diablo. Hope you continue to have a bit of time to devote to this awsome project.
You have just got to love the " powered by the ORD; obsessive reefer disorder" per TheFishTeen. That just cracks me up everytime I see it.
