2300G Cylinder - Preview

Hey Gimp,
Nice of you to bump the thread with "boring".

Hes getting a whole house built along with the tank. It may take awhile.

sweet tank mate cant wait to see this up and running ......maybe ill have to keep that purple carpet anenome for you .......lol.....

Hi all, still here... its been a slow month. The weather here has been the wettest for a couple of years and lost lots of time with the build. A little bit of progress.

Below is the sump / equipment area of my garage / workshop. This area is 8' x 12' x 2' 7.5" deep (looking at the 8' side in the below photo). It shows 4 x 4" insulated pipes coming through the walls of the sump. 2 of these are overflow drains (main tank to sump); 2 will act as conduits for 3" pipes for return plumbing. One of these will also carry 3/8" air hose for air-compressor to butterfly-valve pneumatics for surge tanks.

Most of the work in the last couple of weeks has been on the pool and recently on getting the earth loops for my geothermal heat pump in the earth. The primary purpose of the heat pump is to act as a 3 ton chiller / heater for the aquarium. It will also be used for pool heating in the winter. Anyway, a picture of the pool ready for concrete pour is below (82' x 4' 8").

46bfinGA - no idea what pump is being proposed...I'm happy to use whatever MRC proposes...

Jay180reef - Thanks!

SuperR - tank is currently warehoused about 60 mile from my house...haven't actually seen it in person yet.

fefo23 - as soon as I have something to share I will.

The update:
Meeting the architects in 2 days time, hopefully to review tenders. Should be able to start within maybe 4 - 6 weeks (finally!)

In the mean time, please feel free to critique my proposed fish list.

I am concerned about 3 or 4 things:
1) can I accomodate 3 large angels?
2) do I have too many tangs / surgeons?
3) will the number of substrate feeding wrasses out compete mandarins?
4) can I manage Moorish Idols & orange spotted file fishes?

Oh and a note on copyright below... I don't own any of the images. If anyone has any objections, please let me know.

Thanks. I am a bit nervous about being able to pull it all together. Chingchai has set enormously high standards!
