Sorry for the long delay between updates... I've been awaiting a concreter to pour my sub-floor tanks. This happened today...

In the meantime, been working on the internal plumbing and mounting the hydrowizards (one of six 1000W lights on):

Very nice! But how's that pizza oven coming along?

Is there room to walk between those sub-floor tanks or is there some other means of access? And, if you don't mind, what are the dimensions on those concrete tanks?

Once the formwork is removed, there's about 2' between the tanks. I will suspend Fibreglass grate to form a central walkway at floor level.

And, if you don't mind, what are the dimensions on those concrete tanks?

The sump (on the right) internal dimensions 90" x 35"(w) x 31"(d)
The crypt tank (far left) internal dimensions 53" x 24"(w) x 31"(d)
The refugium (near left) internal dimensions 65" x 24"(w) x 31"(d)

Also, this pumps look amazing and so powerful without any water or anything in the way.... I can't wait till the first YouTube video of them in action on your tank!!!!!

Also, the pictures show mud. Has there been a lot of rain? If so, are you storing the fresh water in advice? If so, how are you keeping from being stagnant?

Abyzz 420eco. I have two of these on a wave controller that will be used to create movement over the reef flat I am hoping to create.

Yes, rain just a few hours before these shots. When the site was excavated, a lot of clay was brought up. This will need some gypsum turned in to it, then topsoil put on top before mulch is laid...

Wow thanks for an update! When do you expect to see water in this thing?

3 weeks. Epoxy painting this week and remove the concrete form-work on the weekend.

Finalizing the internal plumbing and connecting up the pumps as well as installing the heating coils the following week.

Internal rockwork support structures, finalize MH lighting and water fill the following weekend.

Great build. Always look forward to seeing this thing up and running one day. Glad i am not paying the bills. Major money not just for the tank but the whole house. Diablo you must have a well paying job my friend. I have been to Australia and i know one thing, everything is expensive and that was when the dollar was worth 1.50 AUS. Wow, just spent most of the night reading through this magnificent TJ/HJ (House Journal) Absolutely awe inspiring, i would rather pay to see this tank than some of the woefull public aquariums we have down here .

As many others, I've been following along for years with your project and have an appreciation for all the effort that goes into keeping the hungry masses fed with detailed updates. BRAVO on the planning and hard work that goes into design and execution of a project of this scale. It's impressive to see with as much research that you've clearly done over the years to be open to the opinions and experiences of folks here!

Did you give up on the idea of having the hydrowizards intake behind a partition? It seemed to be a bridge too far given the enormous flow that they would pull, and particularly if they were pulsing versus a steady flow. Although did you check out Wolfgang Colsmann's build? He had custom-made bow thrusters to provide some insane flow that is incredibly efficient.
