24 hours in copper and still showing Ich

How long does it take Ich to respond to copper? My tang has been in Q for 24 hours (Mardel coppersafe) and is covered worse than when he went in. Still eating though.

Bare Q tank. No rocks or substrate. No carbon or skimmer. How long before I'd expect visible results?

Copper does not affect the ich on the fish. It only kills it when it comes off to reproduce.
