I got home tonight and my 240/3 was revving hard and then backing off and doing it again etc... the amount of froth was quite huge coming out of it.. and the controller was beeping. What does this mean please? I haven't done anyting to the tank and the water level is normal.

Cheers!
Brendan

Could be the pump is dirty or the driver got wet. The driver has an alarm. This sounds if the pump gets dirty and jams up. The surging though sounds ominous, normally an alarm shuts the pump off.

Roger,

just to touch on your comment here. I'm installing my 230/3 (finally) in my sump and I want to make sure I dont do anything stupid. Is there anything that shouldn't be below water level? During normal operation I expect that the pump will be out of the water, but if I turn my system pump off I expect that most of the skimmer will be submerged due to a rise in water level.

The only problem their would be that water could enter the silencer and over time salt crust would impede air flow. It really isn't a problem you can clean it and everything is submersible.

It's strange. I have only had it for a week and a half and after that night, it hasn't done it again... Thanks for the help
