240+g tank project

Cward- My thought exactly!

Shawn- I don't have a definite time line yet. I'm trying to get an assignment down to Florida at the moment and when I do, the planning will start. Realistically, it'll be another 2-3 years tho...

Awsome tank!!

One question if you don't mind. I saw the pictures of you Durso Stand pipes and I am sticking a durso on my tank and was not sure how tall it should be. Should it be so the top of the 90 is at the bottom of my overflow teeth?

Thanks for any help.

Nathan

The water level will be in the middle of the tee, so I would have that at least a couple of inches below the overflow teeth.

I just used the black aquarium back ground and taped it on the back. I just bought some black window tint that I plan on installing this weekend so I'll post some more pics.

great cant wait to see the pics where did you hide the cl intake we are drilling holes for my bulkheads in the morning and I hope to start to filling it up On saturday then the real fun starts

I took some pictures last night, so I'll be sure to upload them tonight.
The closed loop intake is in the right rear corner.

jbeggs, how about you cut it out with the NICE! posting on every thread in the "Large Reef Tanks" Forum... I looked it up and to this point you have done it 18 times...

It's been a long time since I posted some updates, but I have finally taken some pictures. Since my last post I have added a new sump that eliminated my micro bubble problem. I also changed my return pump to an Ampmaster 3600 and my closed loop pump is now the Sequence Hammerhead. I also changed my closed loop plumbing from 1" pipe to 1 1/2" pipe coming out of the Oceans Motion 4-way.

I have also added the window tint to the back of the tank using limo tint. Since I like to change my plumbing out so often:D I also decided to change the return plumbing to black pvc.

Here is what it looks like from the front. I'll try to take a full front shot of the tank today, along with pics of the fish room.

Very nice... Where did you get the black plumbing from ?? Savko ?? More pics :)

Yep, Savko carries the black pipe.

dgasmd.....Thank you, I've been a little lazy in keeping the thread up to date.

Wow...I can't believe I missed this thread as well. Very nice tank cward, I love that depth. Looks like you're getting some excellent coral growth as well.

One thing...could I get you to post some pics of your new sump (with dimensions)? I just set mine in place the other day, and I'm having a micro bubble problem as well. I noticed that if I cut my flow back a little, the bubbles cut down some...odd thing is, I had less micro bubbles with the 20 gallon rubbermaid than I have with my 90.

Also...any shots from the wall outside? I saw in some pics back that you were looking to do some molding around the tank...

Your tank sure is beautiful Chris.

You guys down in the columbus are sure do have some nice setups. I need to come down to one of your meetings one of these days. Considering I will be moving to the Mansfield area in the next couple of years. I think it will be to much of a drive to stick with C-SEA once I relocate.

wow...great job, maybe when I get the chance to get those frags we talked about I might be able to see it in person..job well done
