240g lee mar in-wall commences!

man lots of work has been done while i was away this weekend. Love how you laid everything out. Looks really good and things look easily accessable. House looks nice also from the pics. Cant wait to see it when its filled with rocks water etc.

I finally found a place that got the non switch side of my that light fixture in. So its on order so hopefully in the next week or two i can finally get that light installed. I also hope that lady does the right thing with that insurance check this time around.

Taging along. Its great to see an Arizona build thread for once. All those people back east with all the space in the basement make me jelouse. Great job, I cant wait to see it up and running.
One of these days we need to get all the Tucson guys together with the Phoenix guys. You guys seem to have your @%$& together alot better than the scene in Tucson. Best of luck.

Well come on up here, maybe we'll rub some of our good traits on to you guys:D

Thanks for the compliments as well!

Glad to see it is all coming together. A question on your use of those neoprene seals on the garage side sliding doors. is there any concern about car exhaust getting into the tank area or into the house? Id assume it would be minimal, but what are your thoughts on it, and any experiences or modifications?

edit nice mermaid shots, better hope she doesnt decide to turn it into a jacuzzi with all that flow you have planned

Prodigious!

Prodigious!

No leaks reported - sounds great!

I have to admit that is the first mermaid shot I have seen with water in the tank!

Congratulations to you both!

The seals keep noise, temp and fumes all to a minimum. Besides we don't park in the garage much anyway;)

Thank you! Don't give her any ideas:lol:

I like it...very neat and well-planned.

How is the heat and humidity looking in there? I went to Wally World to get one of those inexpensive digital thermometer / humidity gauges to keep track of the environment in my fish room... Well worth $10. Shocked how fast humidity can climb if you're not paying attention...

Your mermaid is a hoot. Mine didn't climb into the tank, but she did buy our first saltwater set-up, so that is a plus! :D

man, your wife is an awesome sport. I couldn't pay my wife to get in my tank. If you get a chance could you do a full shot of your sump. I enjoy seeing how people set the sumps up as much as the DTs.
thanks man, looks great

what pump are you using for the return to your tank

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Prodigious!

Funny you mentioned that...I picked up two digital therm/humidity monitor at Walmart Saturday night. You can see a picture of it in this shot
100_6375.jpg

With the water in the tank it shot up to 65% so we'll see if the moisture absorber works as well as it should. Also the ac was not running either because the doors were open and had been open for at least an hour in this pic. But just to give you guys an idea of how well the room is sealed, at the time that this thermometer read 89 in the fish room it was 98 in the garage with the garage door open. When the garage is closed it gets to 94 degrees max so the ac will not have to work much at all to keep the temp in the room stable which is great!

I will post a full pic of the sump running when I get home from work in about 2 hours. There is a dry shot about a page back though.

Kelly has been a huge support through the entire project:D
I'm sure she'll chime in soon!

I was looking at using that same pump for my return on a 200 gallon, but I thought it was not enough flow or turn over. do you have two pumps?

Oh gotcha! I have only one on the system seen at the bottom of page nine. I have only 4ft of head and single elbows at the locline which nets me about 550 gph and my drain flows about 600gph. That honestly is really good flow through a sump since my center chamber is going to house an RDSB. Running too high of a flow through your sump creates micro bubbles and does not allow enough dwell time for the skimmer. The main flow will be created by the Vortechs, surprisingly there is good surface agitation and movement just of the return alone but we are gonna kick it up several notches:D

Didn't get much done tonight...I did manage to replace the door catches which held the access panel in place with magnets which worked out great! Will post the full shot I took of the sump today along with some other pics tomorrow.

Thanks to all of you for the wonderful comments...keep em coming!:)
