240G Upgrade

So I think I'm going to add a second Jebao 20 to my system and run the 2 20's on opposite timers to simulate the tide. Is this a good idea?

So I have an opportunity to get reef safe bannerfish, but hesitant to pull the trigger. From what I've read, I'm not sure my tank would even be big enough for a school. Anyone want to chime in to help me out with this?

Hey pono. Great looking tank. I'm normally not a fan of candy canes , but the way you have put that big display together looks really effective. I may steel that idea !

Looks fantastic!

Thank you.

So my brother is shutting down his 175 gallon reef tank and so I have gotten a bunch of stuff from him, and going to be getting even more next weekend. Here is an updated full tank shot and a close up of the chalice.

The chalice has some damage from some mushrooms that I hope it will bounce back from.

I did end up getting a 2nd RW20 and have the 2 set up on different 11.5 hour cycles to simulate the tide, sort of(I know it doesn't run 12 hours exactly). It stirred up a tonne of crap when the 2nd powerhead kicked in. The whole flow in the tank switches directions at noon now.

How is this working for you? I'm planning on the same type of setup on mine with RW20's and WP40's. Creating a circular motion that switches every 8 hours.

Here is my gigantea. It loves to hang out really close to my powerheads which scares me. It has been there for about 6 months now and seems to enjoy the more shaded area.

One of my RW 15's died so I'm having to do something different with my flow. I'm going to try putting both RW20'S on the left side to see if that will give me enough flow with my return and remaining RW15. This will mean that I don't have reversing flow but will clean up the right side of the tank as there will be no powerheads there.
