240Gal Reef of its own kind

I got that. All this time I was wondering that you would need another pump for the water flow from somewhere....and you exactly answered that!
Nice work. Keep it up and keep the pictures coming.:wavehand:

Awais u can feed brine with this auto feeder but not mysis.
i have 7 doser Bubble Magus unit. 3 on main and 4 on the second unit. i have never used the second unit. the only 3 i dose when i leave for long term vacation and if my parents are not available then thats the only time is comes into play.
here is how it works.

i feed actipods, brine shrimp and dry cyclopeeze on a timer.
that way i do it is each doser is programmed to come on at a particular time.
i have my apex synced with that time.
example: arctipods are suppose to come on at 4pm so Apex is programmed to tune a small 300gph pump at 3:58pm. this pump is inside the main tank hidden behind a few rocks runs a flex tubing to attach to clear pvc that runs water from DT through the pvc and into the fridge and back to DT.
once this pump comes on i have Apex programmed to shut the return pump. so while this pump is pumping for 15 min return is off for 15 min. and in between the doser comes on dosing arctipods or brine or cyclopeeze into the pvc T which will take the food to main tank and feed the fish.
i know its not the main coarse for the fish but i have them trained to eat it by mixing some in mysis and main foods.
so when u are out u can count of fish having some food rather than starving.
frozen brine can stay in ro/di water at 40F for about 5 days or so. Artipods are not frozen they are already refridgerated and cyclopeeze i use is dry powder mixed with ro/di water which is also good for a while in fridge.
only problem i run into after 4-5 days is not food getting spoiled but water drying out for that u will have to place foods in a lid container and drill a hole just big enough to push the dosing tube through it.
i hardly use it infact i have not even set it up now on this tank yet but its there if i need it. My parents are conveniently available to feed my tank now as they have moved in with me.

Tell me about your camera. Show pics

Awais i have a Nikon D5000 camera. that camera itself is not water proof.
i am using a AF-S 80mm Macro lens 1:1 to capture macro shots and close ups.
i bought an under water case for the camera that lets me submerge the camera all the way in water without any harm.

here are the pics of what i have. (these are from manufacturer websites)

with these three items i can get underwater just as 1ft away from the coral and take a nice macro shot. i am still getting used to the focus part of it as this is my first macro lens.

That underwater case is pretty cool
Good job

i got a real good deal on a Strawberry Shortcake acro mother colony. it had browned up during shipping but started to color up so the wholesaler sold it to be at a very cheap price.
i will nurse it in my frag tank with slow acclimation to lights over 30-45 days along with perfect water conditions.
here are a few pics.

i also went ahead picked up this mini colony as well. The previous mother colony is SSC of the thicker kind.
This mini SSC colony is thinner kind.

I noticed when watching your video that you took your Koralin Denitrator offline because you were having some issues with it. Could you explain what the issue was with using it?

dotcommer it wasnt the reactor it was the rock that caused major issues. i have a local marine expert come by my house to take a look at the setup to see if something jumped out. he told me to take the sulfur off line.
all in all it was nothing but rock. rock was man made and rushed during manufacturer processing to meet deadline. they told me to cure it leaving it dry for a week to 2 weeks but things were already in play and i had to get the tank setup.
rock leached something for over 1.5 yrs and killed pretty much every coral i placed in tank.
i have the sulfur denitrator back on this new setup an its working like a charm.

Thanks for clarifying it. I have the 4001 and a 3001 and they have worked great on my 125 and my 90. But I heard they can be very risky. There's not too much info about them except for a few threads.

i have a korallin sulfur denitrator and i have used it for 10+ yrs and i have never had any issue with it. the only thing is that u have to start slow with slow drip rate then over time drip needs to be be speed up to a constant stream to avoid hydrogen sulfide gas.

That is great advice. It doesn't say that in any of the manuals and posts that I have read. It always says to slow down the drip rate. Then I notice the sulfur smell. I increased mine, and it went away and still keeping the nitrates pretty much undetectable..

Lol Awais... soon as ur tank is ready. u can name and pick any coral u want out of my selection.

well a little update: one of my Lyretail anthais is is changing from female to male.
i will post pics. it started with getting few black markings in fins and tail then getting dark in color and now its quite clear its changing.
