LOL, "With patented nitrifying Bacteria"... You can patent a naturally occuring organism? I think I just may have to patent trees. I could make a fortune.

I understand they patented the blend, but the wording on the first sentence made me chuckle.

Deric,

I whole heartedly agree with Dino, something I would suggest while you’re waiting for your tank to cycle is to read through this. It is packed full of great information that all hobbyist need to know. It'll help you decipher fact from myth. I constantly refer to it when I have questions.
HTH

If anybody else read the plywood tank thread, you know this guy wont listen to anybody.

I actually hope this goes well for you, and that you and the creatures you purchase all have a long and happy life. Just be aware that a lot of people on here have often given you very good advice, and you shrug it off with an "I know what I'm doing".

Please keep us informed, I am subscribing to this baby!

Yeah... I read it, but I am still hopeful for the sake of the livestock, and his pocketbook. Maybe he will realize we are trying to help, and some of us know a little about what we are talking about.

I do love build threads though and I hope this one works out.

Keep us posted, I haven't heard of a product to cycle a tank. That is pretty interesting. I have heard of people using already cured live rock though.

thanks guys for all the advice and i wont be shrugging anyone off. I just think some people try to be so orotective it gets annoying. Its like a ovcerprotective parent lol. but the tank is sitting right now i just finished painting it i will have new pics in the morning when its dry

There is a product that does cycle everything faster.
Fritz-Zyme TURBO START #900
I have never used it, but I have heard Marc at Marcorocks.com talk about it. He swears by it.

Check online buddy I went to my LFS There is some new stuff out that cycles tanks in a week. This isnt my frist tank my friend i have had plenty everything will cycle well and i simulated a power outage at worst i may have a gallon or two on the floor i cut the pvs on my return to sit almost at the very top of the water so once it drains down i will be a ok

okay first of all.. bio spira or whatever it is called now is not new. second it isnt going to fully cycle your tank in a week. 3rd even if you did simulate your power outage. a gallon or 2 of water can do massive amounts of damage in very little time.

I vote you take it slow and easy. Any one that has had sucess in this hobby will tell you not to rush into things. Good luck with this build.
I see you have many followers/doubters from the previous thread.. dont let them get to you with their negative post.
Sometimes your're better off not replying to them.

Ok guys today is a super back track for me im so bumbed it turns out that i did have a small leak. Im so freaking ****ed!!!!!!! Im gonna have to call all my help back over to help me. I cant seem to see where the leak is truly from it has to be somewhere in the very bottom frontside of the tank. I wanted to just say forget it but i know overtome it would rot the wood. The leak is only the size of teardrops is there anyway i can fix it without completely draining my tank??????? Help please!!!!!

Damn shawty that sucks. You gone have to drain it and cut all that silicone out and redo it.

that sucks man. At least you don't have livestock in it yet.
+1. It could have been way worse, but stinks either way. Hate to hear it, man.

You will have to drain it to ensure it is fixed:(. Didn't you cover some holes? That would be my first place to look.

ummm. the guy that said you need to cut that silicone away and reseal, was not joking.

but okay chances are still good you got it sealed but did you even wait for it to dry?
