250 Gallon Starphire SPS tank

Does anybody have a Milwaukee ORP controller? Is the probe supposed to have a glass bulb around it like a pH probe? Maybe my probe is not broken, I am not sure.

OK my ORP probe is not broken, and I think I know why my ORP levels where low. I have been feeding about 4 tablespoons of food per day! I have since gone down to about 2 and the ORP is climbing to about 320. At any rate nuisance algae is not a problem what-so-ever, my SPS are growing very well w/ noticeable growth every week, so I will have to experiment and see what works best for my tank. It is nice to have a skimer big enough to experiment with nutrient input and not have algae problems.

I refilled my 20 lb CO2 container for my calcium reactor today. It lasted my about 18 months, I am very happy with that.:)

I have more ideas that I will be implementing in the fall but I will wait and think for a while before posting them.

Other then that everything is going well, just very busy in the summer.

Well, I bought a new car! Been real busy buying it, getting it modded etc..... Haven't spent much time at all on RC!

I am still very busy, but will get back into reefing this winter.

What is new is that I just took delivery of a new sump, 169 (app) gallons!

90 inches by 24! It is huge, and I love it!

I will be re-doing my entire fish room, with pics to come! This winter I will have frags a plenty!

I hope you're planning on a set of blizzaks for the stock rims, otherwise it's going to be a LONNNNNGGGGG winter. :D

I'll think of you when I'm driving around in the s2000 with the top down in January.

LOL - i could never drive anything topless in the witer :D. we are getting cold already. sitting at 50 right now. will prolly have snow in 1 month or so.

I don't race but I may take at through the 1/4 once just to get an idea of the numbers. Others with comparable mods get around a 13.1 @ 100 mph. I could get into high 12s with some CNC work and turbo mods but that would require new injectors, pump, bigger intercooler etc.... So, still contemplating. Whatever I do it has to be streetable and quiet enough to be used in a public ministry work, and gas mileage cannot go down, so I have to research everything very thoroughly.

An M3 would beat me on the highway, but from a start all I can say is AWD w/ limited slip diffs!;)

Blizzaks are WAAAAAAAY to soft, I would kill them in about an hour!

Dunlop, Michelin, and other tire companies make high performance winter rubber that works very well, I have owned a few on my Maxima.

I'm actually looking forward to winter. With four winter tires, AWD and limited-slip diffs, SUVs will not be able to touch me. (assuming ground clearance is not an issue)

I am thinking 4-wheel rooster tails of snow and slush!:D

We are awaiting the pictures. After all

littlesilvermax - dang sounds like you will be scooting good w/ minmal mods. m3's are my favs...too bad i will prolly never own one :( true true the AWD would be nice to shoot off teh line.

4 roster tails of snow and slush!!!! LOL a site i would like to see. my buddy just got the Saab 92q or something like that...he should be able to show me the 4 tails this winter

No pics on the new sump, yet. But it was quite an install day yesterday!

I had already started running the tank upstairs in self-contained mode (CL pump running everything, sump off-line). On Monday TGUNN and I moved the old sump to his place. I thoroughly cleaned the sump room, re-did the electrical (10 outlets on 2 breakers, besides the 2 circuits upstairs) and drywalled with the green board.

On Monday I got the muding and taping done, on Tuesday I got the primer done.

On Wednesday I got both top coats of acrylic done, moved the new sump and stand into the room (grabbed a neighbour kid I had never talked to before)and hooked everything up. Now I am making water as fast as I can trying to fill the thing.

It is much neater now, and the access to everything in the tank is awesome! I have a 36 X 24 inch space for frags now. The skimmer is also much easier to access and clean!

I still have some small jobs to do, but it will do now until next time I get the time to buy some more plumbing fittings and re-arrange a couple of things. I am very happy now having more surface volume in my sump then in my tank!;)

Ben,
Wow, you've sure made a lot of progress on your fish room! Considering it was around 7:00pm when he got the sump move done, you did a HUGE amount.

Bet you're excited to see that up and running!

Later,
Tyler
