How big is your tank, or more importantly how tall is the tank? 400W bulbs can be to much for most tanks under about 220 or so gallons unless you keep them suspended quite high off the surface.
My tank is 36 x 24 x 24. The fixture will be hung 11 inches above the tank. I'm just curious about the par difference between bulbs. How much more a 400 watter out performs a 250 watt bulb. With the t-5 being run 12 hours a day and the mh no more than 6 hours a day
