250 watt SE SPS Favorite?

anyone have a particular 250 SE bulb that give them good sps growth and color? Need to get new bulbs pretty soon and am just trying to get some guidance...I ran a magnetic ballast and Hamilton 14K's right now...any input?

20K for better growth? huh guess I need to do somemore reading lol. I get decent growth on most sps that I have with the 14Ks...maybe ill give the 20K look a shot this time around.

10k reeflux.

I dont think they need actinic supp, but I dont like blue tanks. They are perfect as/is IMO.

I run Icecap E-ballasts

standard m58 or m80 ballast? radium wont run reliably (if at all) on m58... ive been running 250wXM10kSEonM58inLuArcMini for a while and think im going to go a little more blue on the next set of bulbs... how do the reeflux10k compare color-wise to the XMs?

a lot of it is color perception, but I changed from XM 10k's about a year and a half ago.

I think XM's on e ballasts run very white, as do the reeflux 10k's. The reeflux certainly pop a little more at the cost of a little bit of growth. Im pleased with the switch and dont foresee changing anytime soon for my sps tank.

10k will give the best growth. That being said I really like my 10k Ushios 250w's. They give such good growth that I'm thinking of going to a 14k Ushio when the bulbs need changing. Hopefully I'll get a little more blue and a little slower growth.

I've never tried a radium but I just bought a couple helios 20K SE bulbs for my frag/fuge. I really like the color and the frags seem to be growing just fine so far. I ran a hamilton 14k on this tank for a long time. The color was nice but I wasn't impressed by the color or growth of the sps frags.

I switched from XM10K SE to DE phoenix on my display because I wanted more blue and didn't want to have to run vho. It's a shame phoenix doesn't make an SE bulb.
