250g SPS Tank from Beijing

Beautiful reef tank! And I echo everyone else's thoughts about getting great colors with 10K bulbs! It'll look amazing with blue/actinic supplements.

Thanks friends in RC :-)

This clam is one of my favorites, it has been in my tanks over five years:

I like XM 10K, it could make the color of corals more natural, especially for pink , yellow and light green corals; but for blue and purple, maybe add some blue/actinic supplements will be better, and I am also curiously about the effect of LEDs, with LED units, I think I could even position the color of the lighting based the positon of the corals.

Noooo. Stick to XM 10Ks. Don't switch. I have been using them ever since I started with this obsession. I will never use another bulb. They are the best for growth and true color.

I actually like the grey one, third pic. How long is your photo period if you don't mind me asking? Great tank BTW!

I will not switch other bulbs :-), Both LED and VHO is supplements for blue light, and I will also use some white LED (about 6500K) to light the dark corner between Lumenarc reflectors.

My photo period is 9 hours per day

Beautiful colors, really like your aquascape! I notice you don't have as many fish as a lot of us in the States! Your tank is stunning!

wells on witch ballast you run or xm? they look way different than the one I had
by the way nice tank !!

I am using IceCap ballast (220V version) on XM. I have using Reeflux 12K for several month, but it seems too blue and even covered natural color of some corals (I do not know why...), so I turn back to XM 10K, now I am satisfied with color of XM 10K, but maybe add little bit more blue color will be better :-)

cool I ask you because yours look like my reeflux 10k my old xm where yellow
now I use the 20k till they are ready to change and replace it with 10k again

:-) the other problem with XM 400W 10K is the heat makes shell broken(I have lost over 4 bulbs before), but it seems new version (with a raised glass shell) will be better on this.
