250W DE bulds

In the summer I keep the house about 71. I have a fan that kicks on when the halide comes on and blows across the back of the tank. I only get about a 1 to 2 degree swing from the lights. 79 in the morning to 80, 81 at night when the lights kick off.

Two degrees is the biggest swing I wanna see. If I go much lower it heats up pretty quick. All sps, they seem to like consistency, and in a thirty gallon it can get tricky:)

I running two 250w and four T5 with two air king fan blow on top and my temperature stay at 79 degree, temperature I keep inside the house is 77 degree. The light sit on top of the tank with the legs it com with.

Not very good to have such a small temp swing in a tank for a long period of time, any issue that causes a large temp swing will totally stress out all of your corals or kill them if they get used to being at only one temp. That and they get totally stressed out if you try to sell them as the trip will experience drastic swings and so forth. That lesson has been learned through countless people trying to keep there tanks at exact temps. On average I let my tanks swing +/- 5 degrees F daily on purpose. Zero issues with my SPS, LPS or fish.

And if anyone thinks the ocean does not swing 5 degrees in a 24 hour cycle, especially in shallow water, they have never been to the ocean :)

I don't sell anthing fortunaltly:) Too much hassle. The tank has handled pretty big swings from time to time, with no problem.

I can take a pic, but I have never seen a photo that accurately represents what a bulb looks like in person.

HiddenClown Is the blue wave 7 a HQI ballast? If so you will love the color. Great colored bulb! Probably looks good on a electronic to, but I never never seen one.

Outstanding bulb amore. If you like those, you will dig the EVC 20K as well. Very similar but with more actinic.

I use Aqualine Buscke 250 DE 20000K love the color.

+1
Just got a good deal on these bulbs. Plugged them in last night. Hard to describe, but they have a great color. Very crisp white with violet, the color is very defined and prominent, brings out small characteristics in corals i didin't notice before. Garage is right, it would be hard to capture in a photo.
