After being in this hobby for 3 years knowing absolutely nothing about keeping a fish let alone saltwater. I have become completely obsessed with this hobby. I owe a big thanks to the RC community for all the knowledge ideas and advice. I may not have posted allot but Im always on here reading. I recently purchased a new home and began working on my dream tank within a week. This will be pretty much pictures of progress, feel free to make suggestions i will post pictures as soon as i figure out photo bucket.

72X36x24 Rimless peninsula miracles starphire glass
Reeflo Barracuda gold return pump
closed loop 2 super dart golds with 4 way OM
75 gallon sump
more equipment to be purchased

I have always wanted to do a peninsula tank with an external overflow leading into another room to house all the plumbing. I have never seen pictures or ideas of anyone doing this so I had to try and plan everything out. The fish room has a vent fan in the ceiling and also the living room the tank is in has a vent fan and just to be sure I painted the wall with one part epoxy to make a water resistant finish. Also the wood looking floor in the DT room is 100% water proof allure ultra flooring incase of spills. This week end I will be finishing the return plumbing to the sump and hopefully starting the supply.

hey thanks for the comments! The tank is a miracles aquarium from Canada. Tank is 3/4 starphire glass with external over flow. Over flow has 3 1-1/2 holes. Bottom of tank has 8 1 inch holes for closed loop since I will not have any power heads in the tank on the viewing panels. The closed loop returns are drilled on the back wall right under the overflow. The sump came from my LFS something fishy in Northampton pa. sump doesn't really have a manufacture name just was told it was a berlin sump.

The worst part about the whole project drilling an expensive sump for the bulk head 2 1/2 hole saw, put the drill in reverse the whole time hoped for the best came out perfect.

I am very disappointed in this pump it is unbearably loud. I am going to try plumbing in the super dart gold with a 1/2 anti-vibration matt underneath. Any one have a super dart gold are they quiet compared to the Barracuda gold ?

Looks great so far, very clean and well thought out.

Did Miracles ship it to the depot in Pine Brook, NJ, or closer to you? How did you move the tank to and into your house?

Thanks.

Everything looks great!
I am concerned that you might have an amplified vibration sound because there is no sound damping and you have that hollow space below your table there.

I was thinking the same. If you build a few extra solid supports directly under where the pump rests and also add some material between the plywood and pump to absorb the vibration it might help.
