270 gallon tank

I am setting up a 270 gallon tank that is not drilled and I am afraid to drill it. How many overflow boxes do I need, can anyone recommend a brand, and how loud are they? Oh yeah, what flow rate does each need to be and what return pump do I need?

Oh yeah, what are the chances I could get by with 300 pounds of live rock, a skimmer, and a phosphate reactor instead of a wet dry?

Can't speak about the overflows, but you'll defiantely be fine with Live Rock and Skimmer. That is actually the typical filtration setup around here and wet/dry's are generally shunned upon.
