275g Tank (375g system) from CGI to real life ambition

Awesome build, great job putting all of this together! It's not easy to document everything to this extent!

What paint did you use on the stand? It looks great. I want a similar finish on my build but I'm not sure what to use.

Thank you for the kind comments :)

Logzor, for the stand I first applied G77 Epoxy for water protection on the inside and for all the glossy finished I used primer and transparent automobile paint.

Here is a quick Tank System diagram to help me sort things out,

This is the latest equipment I bought today for my system.

1 MP60w (So now I have the only two powerheads I need hopefully ever).
1 Vertex UF-20 Reactor with ROWAPhos and a Mag2 for low flow.
1 GEO 818 Calc Reactor with the ReefFanatic Regulator w/Solenoid and 5lb tank
1 PH Probe for the reactor
1 ORP Probe
1 Tunze Osmolator for Auto Top off

It will get here first week of January, fingers crossed.

Hope no more equipment needed in the short/middle term, credit card still trembling LOL

FishRoom Design

FishRoom Design

As I will be moving shortly to my new home, I'm going to be building a fishroom so my tank can be an in-wall with one side view.

Fishroom Design:
Well, here are my first plans for the new fishroom.
Not too much detail but it shows basically what it will look like and some of the equipment that will hold.

Some Dimensions:
The fishroom will be 3.5 meters x 7 meters x 2.4 meters.
Tiled ceramic floor in case water spills.
Drainage in case of water spill.
All wires for electricity will be tubed for protection.

First some rendered views of the actual living room and garden where the fishroom will be built:

Basically this is what I have right now, I will keep adding more details as I go, any comments or suggestions more than welcome.

Looks good but I would 45 the ends of your steel so it makes a box that salt cannot get in to. With open ends you will not be able to get a good coat of paint or powder coat in the middle of the pipe.

Amazing my friend. Haven´t yet done with 1 proyect u r allready designing the following !!

Top notch as allways.

Superb Sketchup designs

Thanks Nathan, for building the metals beams I will be using two struts and join them together, but before doing this I will use a sealant paint inside the strut so it's waterproof, also, I will be sealing both ends so nothing can get inside the beams, thank you for the suggestion.

Vlado, thank you very much, how's the new tank going?

I´m allmost there ... although i have postponed it until the hollidays are done.
Had to put every single dime into the house.

Here you can see where i have left off. I do have everything else in storage (reactors, pumps, pipes, rock etc etc) All i need to do is join the dots jajajaja

Beautiful tank!
That skimmer looks impressive, also, the stand has a great height, everything looks clean, well, no more excuses Vlado please start that thread!!! LOL

The skimmer is a Deltec AP-902 with self cleanning head ... huge monster !! and the stand has a hight of 1,10 meters ... aflter all i´m 1,94 so i won´t have any problem jaja

I will start the picture rush one of these days ... still working in & on the house jaja

All the best my friend in this coming year !!!

Abrazo latinoamericano !!

Since you seam to be building your fish room from scratch with the DT in it, have you thought about placing a skylight over the tank? With the rail lighting system you could easily block the skylight if you need.

Thank you for the suggestion, the problem I have is that in the future I will be building a second floor above the fishroom, thanks though :)

Juan Pablo,

Congrats !! Your original design was well planned and executed. I'm very impressed with your canopy construction (original layout), and the way your wood surfaces came out. Surely, your new project will be even better. Truly beautiful work. I plan on upgrading to a 300g sometime in the near future and plan on using your build to help me through. The durso design you used is what I plan on using (very silent ).I look forward to more info on your build and wish you equal success on your new tank layout.
