29 bio cube

I water tested my 29 bio cube today and it only holds 22-23 gallons. I am dissappointed. I assumed that the 29 bio cube meant that it held 29 gallons. I read the specifications booklet from Oceanic and nowhere does it mention how many gallons of water it holds, nor does the box. It only says "size 29". Kind of sneaky isn't it?

Did you fill the back of the tank also. That sounds about right for the display volume, but not the total including the sump.

actually, the back was full of water as high as the display part was. I'm concerned about that because of the Min - Max window. The water was to the top of the tank. I did not have the sponge, bio balls or little filter in there. Would that make a difference as to how high the water in the back gets?

customer service. that all you need to do. I will be mad if that happens to me. that why I prefere doing it my self.

I agree its around 25ish gallons. I filled a 33gallon trash can with water to mix up my salt in. I only filled it to about the 29gallon range, not to the very top. I then added my 40 pounds of live sand and filled my bc29 up. I was left with about 2-4gallons of water I figure in the bottom which I used to cure some LR in.

But yeah it bothered me as well. I could have gone with a used Aquapod 24 for 100.00 but I wanted the extra gallons in the tank.
