2nd Annual Montgomery Reef Club Coral Market

Nice set up, Jason. If you want to post from photobucket, hold the mouse over the picture, and four lines will pop up under the picture. Click on the last line (IMG) and right click-->copy. Then just paste it into the thread and when you submit, it'll throw the picture in for you. Also, if you have any kind of photo editing software, do an Auto Level correction to make the colors a little closer to actual (lightens also). Sometimes, this goes overboard, but you can usuaully get closer with Auto Level on the Microsoft software. I think newer versions of Office come with Microsoft's version of photo editing. It isn't the best, but isn't horrible most of the time, either. If you don't know if you have it, right click over a picture on your desktop. In the Open With option, if you see Microsoft Office Picture Manager, that will work in a pinch. Once open, there are editing options (resize and compress, and auto level correction). Play around with it and see what you think. If you have Photoshop, there is a lot more control over the outcome. Autolevels still go overboard, but the colors are a lot closer most of the time. If you already knew all of this, I apologize;).

What kind of camera are you using?

It was great meeting everyone yesterday, Jason and I had a great time putting faces to screen names. ;-) We always enjoy checking out the LFS whenever we're in a new town and boy, you guys have got a good one down there. Aquarium Fantasies is fantastic - incredible selection.

I took a break for a day (zonked out all day yesterday), but wanted to say thanks to all who helped make the coral market happen. Jessica and the Drury bent over backwards for us again, so many tahnks to her and Ken. Our sponsors really came through for us, too. With all of the great raffle items, everyone stood a good chance of winning something nice.

We had a lot of great corals for sale, so I think everyone had a great chance to pick up a little of everything. I think most of the vendors felt as though the trip was worth it for them, so in that respect it was a success. The club also grew by five members, so all in all, a good day. I, like several others, just broke even (or came in just under breaking even), but came home with lots of nice corals (especially my new Miami Hurricane from Triton's Garden:)). I hope everyone had fun and that you got to bring something home, even if you didn't win a raffle or door prize.

We'll have some of the frags from the fragging demonstration available to club members for $15. They are in somewhat limited supply (mainly the Favia), but we have several. I really thought there'd be more interest in the Favia, but with so much else going on, I guess it got over looked. The acro frags are huge (2-3").

It was great to see everyone again, and hope you all had fun:).
