3 days without food?

I feed my fish once a day at roughly the same time each day. However, I've been called away for an emergency and no one is home (holiday weekend) to feed them. I have 2 Osc. Clowns, a Chromis, Damsel and a 6line wrasse. Will they be alright?

they should be fine
if your tank is well established they will probally eat the bugs and stuff in the LR and around the tank
like in the wild

Sorry about that loss Siding but I doubt it was from stavation. Fish can make it a couple of weeks without food. Not good for them but they can do it. Four days is no problen

Oh, there is an exception as there is to any rule. Seahorses and Pipefish need food constantly as there digestive tract is so rudimentary. Normal Seahorse keepers feed at least 3-4 times a day. A few days without food can kill them.

i dont know what to say but he was fine a nd healthy for a good 6-7 months, i was getting and algae prob, so i tried to cut back and those were my consiquences

Once again Sorry. Losing a fish is always a bummer.

I would think a Sohal could graze on algae during your absence.

the only algae i had was on the sandbed (red hair) maybe it was just a freak thing, maybe one of the other tangs was picking on him

Same here, Im a teacher with a few tanks in the room. Over long vacations my fish will only get fed once every 3-4 days. Never had a fish die of starvation!

I was told by the LFS to feed my fish 2 to 3 times a week. I feed 3-4 times a week. I know it depends on the fish but usually the fish can go a while without feeding.

wow - I feed my fish 2x day and also put up a 2" x 2" sheet of nori once a day (which is gone in less than 10 mins). I have 4 tangs, 3 chromis, 4 fire fish, 6 line wrasse, blue head wrasse, lawnmower blenny, pygmy angel, and a green filefish and they're all still rock pickers.

From what I understand about fish is they will always eat whatever food they are given. It is not necessarily because they are hungry. I think you are over feeding if you feed twice a day. You can get away with feeding every other day.
