3 New Mags and a prayer! They look bad...

Just started treatment in QT.

Should I move them all to their own individual QT or will they be ok together?

One looks real bad!

Ouch....

Get them in their own tanks and at separate. One dying may wipe out the group or infections can be transmitted. Good luck there's some beauty in those.

My view would be that since they have already been housed together, any cross contamination has already happened. Unless you have an easy way to treat them separately (that would be best), I'd probably just do them all together.

Ok! Thanks..

BTW, the bigger one in the middle with the magenta base is potentially spectacular. Where did you find it?

Waters gonna get funky pretty fast when they start expelling crap. Just throwing that out there.

you need strong wave for quarantine too but I can't see any water movements in the picture. try to get em strong or stronger waves

Got them at the LFS. Yeah, I like the green one and the dark brown/red one. The other may not make it. I'll know for sure in the morning.

I've treated one that was almost that bad before, but not quite.

I got to say though, the bad one of these three is by far the worst yet. He looks almost like he's melting. It will be a miracle if he makes it. I'm not expecting anything good when I get home in the morning. I think he may be too far gone.

Update on 3 mags:

Got home about 3:30 today and by the Grace of God, the worst one is still barely alive.

However, still in near death condition.

What really sucked is that my ehiem compact pump actually quit running due to excessive secretions from all 3 Mags. That was surprising because they're very reliable pumps, and this is the first time that's ever happened. It is the smallest compact pump ehiem makes, so I feel if I would have had one of my bigger pumps in there it wouldn't have happened. It would have been too much flow though. Had that small pump ran all night and provided the flow needed, they might have all done a lot better. I'm glad I always run 2 pumps. My aquaclear HOB filter was trucking along and is probably why they're still alive. The worst of the three is literally loosing a few tentacles.

Couple of pics after doing 90% WC and increasing the Cipro to 500mg.

Will update again tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

They're all definitely responding better to the increased flow now that my other pump is up and running again!

Pinkskunk: "You are having 3 mags in ICU right now, are you up to the task of taking on another nem and have the means to QT it? I am not in your shoes but I feel stressful with all these nems coming..."

I wanted to show you my little setup that I'm currently working on. Not near finished. Still building stands, skinning them, painting, and other stuff, but here is what my little QT area looks like. And no, I don't need a kitchen table. :-) lol

I had to bump up to 500mg in a 10gal for a real stubborn case. Even did a 500mg no lights 24hrs. Sometimes you gotta experiment!

Yeah, working in a hospital and have worked ICU and ER now for about 7 years. I've seen how the doctors treat everything and what they do with certain medications when the patient isn't responding well to the therapy. Sometimes you have to change antibiotics or increase the dosage. It's not always bactieral either. If it's viral, antibiotics don't work.

I like these..
