3 New Mags and a prayer! They look bad...

This is great and you are great.. I wish everyone in the reef hobby/trade would care this much about the organisms. Your care and dedication reflects in the greatly increased condition of the nems! I hope it keeps going well with no inconveniences

Well I appreciate the kind words, but believe God had his hand in this one as you can see what the title of the thread was. I was just the vessel he used to help. Working in the medical field (Respiratory Therapist) I'm continually around the sick and dying. I've always paid close attention to what the doctors have ordered for certain disease processes. If a patient is responding slowly to antibiotic therapy or not at all, sometimes they will either add another antibiotic or switch to another drug all together. However, there are contraindications with specific antibiotics. Some cannot be given together. I think Minh is on the money with Cipro being the first line of defense. I also like to keep amoxicillin and Azithromycin on hand as well. I think that together we can document and learn from one another and save even more animals in the future. Thanks to Minh and D-Nak for providing the help and experience when desperate people like myself need it.

Cheers! :-)

Now, I have to tend to my Sick S. Gig now. Lol....just when I thought I was done, another goes into acute respiratory failure. :-)~:lol2::celeb1:

Looks great besides the color! How are the others?

Not doing all that well, and I'm not sure why. They have had over a week of treatment.

I just really jacked one up just a minute ago. I had it in my hand and just had taken it out of the QT and was going to DT with it, and I dropped it on the hard floor. No, it gets worse.....

He was fully inflated with water and take a guess what happened on impact? No, he did explode! But....Half of his tentacles did. The impact of the hard floor and the fact he was inflated blew the tips of his tentacles open. The pressure was too much. The water had to go somewhere, so out the tentacles it went. Arr, I'm so frustrated. I can only hope they will heal themselves and close back up. This was the same nem that got sucked up in my power head too. So he's already trying to recover from a flesh wound. :angryfire:

That is not good. think of all the injury to the internal structures. Best of luck with him, none of the bad kind.

Man I know, he's probably bleeding eternally- if he had blood. :-) Can't be good. He hit very hard, even from 3 feet.

I can't believe it, once they both settled in DT, they both fully inflated. They're really liking my Jebao's, or maybe T5's. Prolly a lil of both.

The one NEM with the blown out tips has started to repair itself. It was like he secreted a glue and closed the holes. It's amazing how God has given these animals the abilities they have.

Update: picture of blown, but repaired tips. Then pic of normal side.

Just before moving the worst one to DT:

Now finished with treatment. In DT now and gaining strength, size, and color :

Pay no attention to the basketball stuck to my overflow box.

Wow that looks pretty good.

They're getting there....

Had to put the smaller green one back in QT. They all had close to 10 days of treatment and all seemed to be doing well. The green one did well all day. These pictures were all from today. Now he deflated on me again. Mouth wide open. :debi:
