3 stripe damsel and lawnmower blenny

I'm sure you guys can guess how this goes.
Add lawnmower blenny to the 60 gal tank. He sits on my pump for two days. Can't figure out why he won't graze.
Turns out every time he thinks about leaving the pump, 3 stripe damsel about half his size goes berserk at him until he chases him back on top of the pump.
Of course I knew the dascyllus damsels can be huge jerks but most of my searching said that lawnmower blennies were good candidates for stable tankmates with damsels.
So posting this for reference.
the 4-5yr old Damsel is now living at LFS, and the blenny is happily grazing the tank.
P.s. I added the damsel years ago-my 2nd fish ever, but I'll be able to have much more interesting fish now without him.

I avoid damsels like the plague

I once saw a school of Sargent majors tear a Cat shark to ribbons

I know this is kind of an old thread but how did you remove this demsel from your tank? I can't get this thing out of mine for anything?

I may have gotten lucky - but my blue damsel had a hiding /sleeping spot he always went to in the corner...i had to remove him, and when I put the net in the tank it was the first place he went to. There was only one way out when he would go in there. I put the net in front of the out, and took a turkey baster and squirted water behind him... He swam right into the net.

I also had to catch my foxface - who was way harder. I put a large glass flower vase laying sideways on the bottom in the sand. In his attempt to run from the net he swam straight into the vase, brought the net up to the opening and I was done.

Could have been a once off with just luck on my side, but the vase will be my go to when I need to catch another fish.

Okay thanks . I have been fighting with this fish for months now . Nothing works I will try the vase though

I ripped all my rock work apart. I didn't have any clever way.
In retrospect I should get my fish used to eating out of containers, so they can be removed if needed.

My lawnmower blenny (and everyone else) have been happy and drama free without the 3 stripe.

I had to take out a damsel yesterday. It took less than 10 mins with a fish trap

I got him out finally ! I didn't feed the tank this morning so they were all kind of hungry . Put some food into the bottle and it didn't take 5 minutes.
