Hey guys,

I am curious to know what you guys are running to heat your super large aquariums. Im embarking on building a 3000g aquarium and I was looking into pool heaters.

Not sure if this is the right route, but I have read up on using the thankless water heater -> PEX method as well and would like your opinions.

As for the pool heating, I was thinking about something like this: http://www.costco.ca/AquaPRO®-ECO50...p-With-Cooling-Feature.product.100033803.html

Im in Canada so the winters are harsh and I need to find a better solution, rather than rely on 20x small heaters that break within a year. Im sick and tired of getting shocked =(

Look At Process technologies Titanium Immersion Heaters. Available in 110, 220, 480v single and triple phase up to I think 15000 watts.

A few of these hooked up with a simple controller will handle that load no problem.

I have a spare brand new 220v 6500w three phase if your interested pm me.

So do you have natural gas where you live? How much is the cost compared to electricity? If you can only get electric water heaters don't even both with an external water heater to warm the tank.

I just read the warning in the manual (http://media.thepoolfactory.com/media/wysiwyg/pdfs/aquapro-eco500-owners-manual.pdf page 3). If you use it for any other application than swimming pool, it will void warranty. It looks good but you better ask the manufacturer about the warranty before buying it.
