3115 + Ozone?

Hi!

Is the Comline skimmer 3115 ozone safe?

If, that would the advantage with adding ozone in a 3115 be?

Will the skimming effect be increased?

I have heared that adding ozone is a benefit because it kills bacterias in the water. But if the 3115 is recirculating i assume that the water exchange is to low to use the added ozone in that purpose?

Ozone chemically breaksdown (essentially burns) the skimmate so it reduces or eliminates skimmeer production. The 3115 is provided with ozone inputs but only low doses are meant to be used for emergency ammonia and nitrite problems. Ozone does sterilize and clarify the water but an extremely low dose is generally all that is used just for the clarifying effect in a reef tank. In general I recommend a seperate reactor or very small airstone skimmer just for this purpose.
