327Gallon DT build. Wish me luck.

I mounted my Radions the same way. I think it worked out perfectly it also gives me the flexibility to slide them left to right if I'm acclimating a coral and they are easy to remove if need be as well. Following your build.... getting ready for an upgrade myself and you are building and awesome tank to follow :) Keep the updates and pics coming...lol

Thanks. Yes mounting the lights this way gives me a ton of flexibility. I'm glad you have already don it and it works as expected.

I really like how you did the lights in the hood. How do you get into the tank with the hood on it?

looks like you're doing a great job. I really like that canopy idea. your tank looks great and i'm envious of your grass also...

So here's some progress. All pipping has been done. Hit a little bump on the road and lost some momentum but I'm back at it. Electrical will be next.
So I eneded up drilling another hole in the back of the tank to acomodate one more 1.5" bulkhead. Tank wasn't running right with the original two. Karen & Bob form Exotic were awesome once more and came out to my house to drill the extra hole.

After that Matt built me another box for the back to acomodate the room for the 3rd bulk head.

I modified the inside box to install the bulkheads with it inside allowing for ease of install.

Boxes already installed.

All drains installed. Return and Manifold have been done for a while.

So on to show the return and manifold. JonnyU was awesome thru this process. Thanks a lot man.
The beast. I had a littel problem with the pump making noise. Reeflo replaced it inmediately. Excellent CS.

One of the reasons I went Hammerhead was to be able to run as much equipment as I can of the return pump. So I installed the UV and a manifold with capacity for 4 reactors.

Here you can see the emergency in the left and the full siphon plus the back up as well. I choose to install both pipes with gated valves although it isn't necesary.

And then onto filling up the tank and crossing my fingers.

It all worked great. I was able to run the pump full blast. Overflow handled fine. Surface skimming was on point. It runs very quiete. The first hour or so was a bit louder for some reason, not annoying but louder than I expected. Afterwards the system got so quiet that I completely forgot it was on and ended it up runnigng for two days stright till I remember it was on. LOL. Very happy thus far with the out come.
The return is 1.5" all the way up to the nozzles which then reduces to 1" and I opted for the Oceans Motion nozles to avoid the piercing effect of the smaller diameter nozzles.

Glad you were able to overcome the issues you had previously. Looking forward to the rest of the build.
