330 gallon build.

I have added the last two 6105s. On Saturday, two days ago my Ammonia tested 1.0, Nitrites 0.0 and Nitrates 0.0. I decided to add two bottles of Bio-Spira from Instant Ocean. I followed the instructions and turned off the skimmer. I also to the down time to give it a good cleaning. The bottles I added said they were good for up to 75g but I was hoping that I have some good bacteria left on the rock I purchased. Some aptasia have survived! On Sunday the Ammonia was 0.5, Nitrites from 0.0 to 0.5 and Nitrates 5.0. Today the Ammonia is 0.0 Nitrites 0.0 and nitrates 10. Yesterday I also dropped a frag of SPS in the tank and when I got home today it has good polyp extension. The frog spawn looks good also.

Here are some crappy iPhone photos and a video of the wave I am able to generate. The wave just does not turn me on like it does in a smaller tank.

One more thing. I am thinking of going ahead and moving my nano inhabitants over to the big tank after rapid cycling with bio-spira. What do you guys think?

No need to rush things ......forgive me if I missed it why are you wanting to rapid cycle your setup.....rushing things never wins the race.....

The nano is on the kitchen counter and my wife wants me to empty and move it...... Ok that is a lie she doesn't care. Um I burned out the white LEDs on the nano and the inhabitants are going to die..... Well Ok that is a lie... I did burn out the white LEDs but the inhabitants are doing fine with RB and UV LEDs. Um....Well..... Here it is, the real truth! Like most Americans I have no patients and want instant success! Ok there I said it! Are you happy now! LOL

Are you a Doctor?.....lol. JK, I couldn't resist !! Tank looks great and yes, in this hobby patience is a good thing. A lot can go wrong without it.

very nice. 3 weeks to add fish or corals isnt rushing to much.

it appears you not running much flow threw the sump. how much flow is your return pump?

Here are some updated photos with the stuff added from my Nano. Use my sony alpha 100 DSLR for these so no excuses. Ammonia and nitrites still at zero.

Looking great! Nice setup so far. I assume you will be adding more rocks in time but I like it, that skimmer is a beast!

I prefer a minimalist look. I don't like tanks that are filled with rock then when the animals grow in look over crowded. The large open area will get a large sqamosa. It was purchased by me in april 2007, a couple years later to tore my tank down and sold it to my friend. It has now out grown his 70g tank and I will be getting it back. I plan on the big open space being a clam/rick/zoa/blasto field. I like for the fish to have room to swim also.

I am sure the tang PoPo will have a field day with thisbit, I had my LFS order three of the smallest yellow tangs I could get.

Why would the tang police get angry with 3 yellows in a 330? That sounds more than reasonable to me. I do prefer an Achilles or Powder blue though:)

Oh I will be adding more tangs!

Got the squamosa in the tank today. I put him where I want him but I bet in a day or so he will have moved all over the tank. Also added a green/blue open brain (Trachyphyllia geoffroyi) which I think will color up under better conditions. Here are a few updated shots.

Thats why I tried ESV salt, expensive, but mixes clear, no sludge, and you can use it almost instantly if needed, but im only doing 5g water changes on a 120.

Tropic Marin dissolves very clear, once you get the pumps going you wont notice the extra material in the mixed salt water, IME the Red Sea Coral Pro was the worst when it comes to residue

I picked up a powder blue tang 3.5 inched and a Flame angel 2.25 inches today. I get my LFS to leave them in the bag till I have a chance to look at them. The flame is still a little shy but the powder felt at home as soon as I dropped him in.

Nice! both are beautiful fish, two of my favorites. i also got a flame angel today as well!

Love the powder blue. Nice dark colors and looks fat. You diffidently need to get a Vlamingii tang. They get big, but are the nicest fish around. They do not hurt any corals. They are not aggressive to wards other fish. They also are very friendly and will eat out of your hand. You can even pet them once they get to know you. They're the type of fish you can give a name to. Like a pet dog, but only a fish.
