34g Solana stocking options

Right now I'm planning out my fish list for my 34g Solana. I'm looking for something kinda unique. I'm going with a lawn mower or tailspot blenny but other than that, I don't know. I don't really want a pair of clowns.

Would a fathead or sunburst anthias be an okay option?

Anything else unique and kinda social?
 
Anthias would prolly need a lot more space imo ... they are active swimmers ...

How about an orchid dotty ... or cardinals or if you really want something with personality Id say a long nose hawk ... I own one and its got tons of personality
 
Waspfish, small scorps, a dwarf lionfish (I recommend a fuzzy), and if you really want weird...

If you only had one blenny I think you could get buy with a sunburst anthias. I kept one in my old 29 gal sps tank for 3 years and the thing swam less then my clowns did ( and they only ever hover over the anemone). It usualyl just hung out under the overhang that my cap made growing off the rocks, keep in mind though they can get up to 5" so thats alot of bio load for a 34. If you are dead set on it though, it should be find given ample swimming space, as in my experience ( take with grain of salt) my sunburst was NOT a swimmer like most anthias.
 
I have the same tank and have a blue spotted Toby puffer, BI color Benny and a filefish. They all get along wonderfully and the puffer has a lot of personality.
 
Bump. Im going to steer away from a Waspfish. This will be a passive and peaceful nano.

Ive narrowed it down to at least one Blenny (probably a Tailspot to make the tank look bigger) maybe a Fairy or Flasher Wrasse, and possibly a Cherub or Flameback Angel.

Any suggestions or opinions?
 
Anthrax.... I have stoked my 34 with two Small Black and White Clowns, 1 Small Flame Angel, 1 Small Midas Blenny so far... Next I will be adding a Fathead(Sunburst) Anthias. My thought was to make sure I got all livestock fairly small in size to make sure they have enough room and space. In addition to make sure I was over stocking I drill my Solana and maintain an 11 Gal sump with Skimmer and Fuge. Plenty of live rock and Marine Pure Bio Cubes do they trick for my Bio filtration.

Hope this proves worthy....

Did you end up adding? I am planning to add one to my 34 Gal as well.
 
Like posted above, I personally wouldn't add a fairy or flasher wrasse. I don't think a fathead anthias would be a good choice either. Plenty of other options out there for you to choose from

Hate to be a scold, but a 34 gallon is too small for that angel and the fathead. Fish grow, and those fish will be uncomfortable in your tank before too long. The extra water capacity will help with water quality, but not territory.

To the OP, tailspots are great little fish, as are possum wrasses and firefish. You could also do a small group of barnacle blennies. A watchman goby/pistol shrimp pair would also be amusing. You want to keep it to small peaceful species though.

I completely understand and agree. The plan is to start of small and upgrade in the near future. Thanks for the input.
