Tank has been going about 2.5 years now. All of the corals were grown from frags or small colonies. Most were moved over from my old 180 wall when i set this system up. Yes the anglefish do graze on the corals. Here is the full tank shot.

The Emperator and the banded Butterfly have been in my systems for about 5 years now. The Emperator was a juvenile when i got him. He has completed the change inthis tank. I have images of him when he was about two inches long and only blue black and white.
They both are hand fed, All of them actually. The angels eat anything. (including corals) The copperband only eats fresh squid and fresh "steamer clams" In addition all of the fish graze continuously. Just like in the wild. I get very little aggression between the fish . I attribute this to the size and shape of the tank. 60 x 48 x 26 inches. If i drop a clam or an lps in the tank it would be ripped to shreds before it hit the bottom of the tank. Hence the images from my sump to follow:

My Sump: This portion of the sump is a deep sand bed in a 75 gallon tank. All my LPS are in here along with a couple of carpets that I have had since the 1995.

now that's a reef, beautiful and love the angel

have u had the emperor for long ? I'm planning to get a small one in my next upgrade andlet it grow, hopefully it grazes less when its small.

I have had the emperator for about 5 years. When he was a juvenile he did not nip corals at all. He now bites the ends off of them and makes a cloud of coral dust like a parrot fish. The tank and some of the corals are large and the corals can handle it in a tank this large but i would not recomend it if you do not have a large tank. You will get attached to the angels as they have a great personality. They aslo grunt and bite hard enough to draw blood. It is heartbraking to raise one up to adult size and then have to get rid of it just when it is coming of age so to speak. It is very hard to find a good home for an adult angel and moving them is very traumatic for the fish. After watching how hard it was on my emperator to move him from his original 180 gallon tank to his current digs I would not ever do that again if I could help it. They are worth it though if your tank is large enough.

thanks Dave.

I have a juv one in my 180 FOWLR, but my reef tank is only 65G so cant put him in there :S

working on upgrade to 300 soon, hopefully that would be a nice home :)

would you let us know more about ure system ? I think I see a MH light over your Fuge ? :)

You are doing it! Very nice my Emp is a juvie didn't know about the chomping, he is my favorite. Gotta upgrade...needed a reason anyway.
