Yep,that one
O.K. since there has been some interest lately, of ReefPack's in small tanks.........I finally got around to post some pictures.
Tank has been set-up since February, 2006. Its only about 6 months old to date.
The tank.......37 Oceanic, Oceanic stand, custom hood (It took me about a day and $80. worth of oak to build it). Black backround........1/8 lucite bonded to the outside/back of tank.
Filtration ........Tunze ReefPack 500 with 2 6080.500 magnet holders. BUT the skimmer has been upgraded to a 9010. 9005 is standard with the 500. Best filtration system I have ever used. I like to call it a ReefPack1000 now!
Approx 80lbs of Live rock. Its a lot for a 37, but I still like the "old school" look of the rock wall. Plus it hides the ReefPack nicely.
Lighting.......1 150w DE halide "pheonix 14k" plus 300w VHO actinic = 450W !!! Corals are THRIVING with this lighting!
Top-off........Tunze Osmolator.....Included with the Reefpack 500, With the addition of the Tunze 5074 calcium/kalk dispenser. Best top-off system I have ever used.
Heater........1 black steath 100w. Cant even see it!
O.K. now for some pictures.........not the greatest quality, but it will give an idea of how a ReefPack 500 looks and fits in a small tank.

Picture 3 .........Top view..........note: remember, this is now a 9010 skimmer.........a 9005 cup is about half as high as the 9010 in the picture

This is BY FAR the best set-up I have ever used to date! It is so simple and trouble free. Maintanance is very easy. Top-off is automatic. It has really cleaned my tank up quite a bit. The water clarity is much better than I am used to.......and nuisence algea is is becoming extinct! The best "pro" to using the ReefPack 500 system is , I have no worrys of something going haywire........no floods, no adjustments.........nothing. I love not having a sump now! Its so easy. With this sytem I really dont see the need for a sump anymore.........its just simply........not worth the trouble!
Thanks to Roger Vitko from Tunze U.S.A. for all his help, cust. support and answering all my Tunze questions ! Also thumbs up to Brian at Fins Reef for top notch service and cust. support.
Let me know what you think!
