And I'm getting very tired of people like you who promote poor husbandry methods just because you managed to keep a tang alive in a small tank. Noobies read your posts and think they can do the same.

Who says i promote this? I'm saying you should get a life & be more constructive & helpful to people.

We should only hope to be as perfect you must be. :spin2:

I'm done here!

The reason I posted here was to be helpful to the OP and to anyone else who reads the thread. Just because people don't like to be told that something they are doing is wrong doesn't mean that it shouldn't be said. And I have a very nice life, thank you.

People read these threads to become more educated on reefkeeping. Those with experience or specialized knowledge regarding an aspect of the hobby try to help others. It has nothing to do with feeling perfect or superior to someone else.

OK.

Don't you hate threads like these that turn into such a large argument.

Bottom line is that it is not healthy for the fish to be in such a small tank so why keep it in one? Seems simple, if you want a tank go with a larger tank. If you can't afford a larger tank stick with the huge variety of smaller fish available.

those tangs are still jus babies, or juveniles for anyone who is gonna argue with me... they get upward of a foot each... aside from that, i like the little scape you got, and the candy hog is awesome...

what is in that filter bag in your sump/refuge?

Yes, tangs have a tendency to grow. I couldn't watch the video for more than a few seconds :(

agreed, very very upsetting... not sure what kind of reaction this person expected here posting something like this... unreal

steve is probably jealous because he could never get a blue tang to live more than 30 days.

wow... maybe you didnt see his info, but clearly Steve has some experience in this hobby... as opposed to someone who puts 2 Blue tangs in a 38 gallon... you get defensive after posting a video like this? what did you expect to happen?

nice tank dude and dont listen to others about the tangs, they only go on what books tell them rather than personal experience.

another foolish comment... NONE of us are speaking from a book, we are ALL speaking from experience...

maybe neither of you have taken the time to look the the wealth of info we are fortunate enough to have here, as well as the experiences shared... i strongly suggest before you post a video like that or make comments like that, you do your homework, and read a little...

I'm not one to debate tank size very much (75 vs. 90 gal, 100 vs. 150) but I think anyone with any experience keeping marine fish will agree that those tangs will die well before they reach adulthood if kept in that tank. If you will move them out soon (very) then IMO you are not doing anything wrong. But if you plan on keeping them in there indefinitely you are condemning them to a much shortened life and decreased quality of life. You have some VERY experienced fish-keepers (not me) telling you that what you are doing is harmful. There's no good reason why you shouldn't take their advice seriously. But this is all just my opinion, take it FWIW (which isn't anything ;) )

This thread is closed. We are not going to promote this attrocious husbandry on Reef Central.

Some of you need to learn to respect the advice given, and not attack the one offering it. That will quickly earn you a suspension from this board.

TRC members are selected due to their experience and knowledge. Insulting them (or any member) will not earn you any points.
