I have had a build diary on My local reef clubs site in San Antonio for the last 2 1/2 months so I fiugred Id post a Quick Pick Diary on here with a few details.

To start I have a Center staircase between my fomal entry and family room that just happens to have a closet. I was able to utilize this closet and put my tank in the wall. Pick from start to present day over the last 2 1/2months or so. And now pics

In no time I expect the DIY foam to match the LR in color when coraline algae take over. Corals will come in a month or so which will include a couple of SPS and zoas. Maybe a small clam.

Yes the tank was filled using RO/DI so I am not concerend the fish are doing very well and eating and the tank has done the majority of any cycling it may do. My water is actually almost to clean which is making my skimmer go nuts. Oh and another detail I donwsized from a 210 to a 39g so its much easier to care for and a lot less time consumming.

I applied foam to the back of my tank, and you can't even tell it's foam. There's some macro algae, coraline, green algae, and fan worms growing on the back now. Within a year, you'll have no way of telling it's foam.

No fish came from another local reefer and sand did come from a previous tank but not the 210. I did seed the tank with fellow reefers rock and sand though. Everything that went into the tank was cured so I basically took several steps to insure I would have a short cycle. Fish are easy to introduce in a quick time frame I have found over my several years in the hobby but it is best to hold out a while for coral, which is why there isnt any. All the fish I had in the 210 were to big for this little tank, but it would have been nice to keep some of them.

Yep thats what im waiting for. One of our local reefers here is a expert working with this stuff and actually built my structure. Very cool.
