3ft BB ULNS Tank

Cool thanks mate. How long does it normaly take for the frags to arrive and how do you keep them warm?

I missed this one sorry Fishy
If you use Auspost Express they arrive the next day as long as your in the next day delivery zone and to keep them warm during winter I use a small heat pack but when it's warmer I don't due to the risk of overheating :)

Thank you for sharing scotty and making me jealus:p:p
Happy it's going better than you imagined buddy!

It's the second time you put thoughts into my head reagarding a fish:bum:
I gave up on that second mystery we were talking about but now spud started haunting me:beachbum:

Thank you Mike :)

Oh no I've done it again  they are such an amazing fish I think they are more of a risk with fleshy LPS corals rather than SPS. I'll keep you posted though if he does start misbehaving buddy

Ok cool, so they handle being a little bit cooler during posting alright then.

Thank you Mike :)

You are so right buddy!
The first regal i had was an angel(literally, lol)
Kept him in a tank with many lps and clams and never ever, nipped or hurt any of them.
When he grew too big fot the tank i gave him and tried my luck with two more.
Both of them killed some lps before i turn my heart into stone and take them out:(
After that i gave up on them but now seeing spud angel made me wanna go into a "copy paste mode",lol lol

So the only food you throw in the tank scott is for the angel? No liquid or something like that for the corals?

Fishy buddy, there can be only one spud, lol!
If i go that way we will give him a new name:)
I'll take some more of my lousy pics today and make an update soon!

I'm not sure on the specs on all his gear buddy but all I know is that he uses only Nikon. Mate I'm extremely grateful still to this day to have been chosen for the one TOTM :) I'm feeding Spud small krill as it's the only thing he seems to like, I've tried a lot of different types of foods but he shows no interest if it's not Krill the fussy bugger :lmao:

Hopefully you will mate I'll put my vote in for ya ;) but I totally agree the joy a tanks brings to me and my family is worth every single penny :)
So he's a Nikon man, It's similar to the Ford/Holden guys but with Canon and Nikon. They only use one or the other and will always say that their brand is better than the other:lol:.
You diserved that TOTM with that tank mate it is awesome and I will be coming to see it one day(and catch some of those monster snapper you have over there):D.
Are you going to try and get him onto somthing like pellets eventually?
You are so right buddy!

Thats a shame about the fisrt regal Mike and the second two going rouge:(. I'd like to get a pretty dwarf angle or butterfly for the new tank, but it's a risk as to wether I get a angle or a devil:hmm2:
Yes I agree there can only be one spud......you'll have to name him Biggles:lolspin:.
Good I look forward to the update:)

This tank is looking beautiful. Regals are definitely my favorite fish. I have one in my SPS tank and he doesn't' pay any attention to the corals. He stayed in hiding when he was in a 55 gallon QT but as soon as he went into my DT with a bunch of Anthias swimming around he is constantly swimming around with them. I feel as if he was scared in QT being the only fish. Anyway, looking forward to watching this tank grow. Great pics!

Yes mate they do really well as long as you take a bit of care, sent a few boxes over winter with no losses :)

Well don't you go blaming me if he turns naughty Mike lol I will take no responsibility ;)

The only food I've been feeding the tank mate is the food I feed Spud, The only other thing I add to the tank is Lanthanum and Zeo coral snow :)

And I i agree with Fishy it's time for an update my friend :D

Thank you Fishy :) It is a bit like the old Holden/Ford rivalry with camera people isn't it :lmao: we do have some monster snapper down here, a good friend of mine goes out quite often and always seems to catch a beauty.

Yes mate I will be trying to get him on to other foods but at present he's being a bit stubborn

Thank you very much cFloor :) I have considered adding another fish or 2 just to see if that would bring him out a bit but the tanks been running well so for the time being he is the king

You have some real beauties there!

Thank you Greg :)

Haha lol, yes it is mate and they spend nearly more money than us reefers do on there hobby(reefing isn't a hobby in my opinion, a hobby you do in your spare time:lol:):spin2:. One of those snapper has my name on him, so tell your mate not to catch him and let him get nice and fat for me:D.
Spud would be a wild fish wouldn't he, so I guess it is understandable that he only eats frozen. He'll get use to other foods in his own time. Also did you get him from the LFS or online? personaly I like seeing fish in the flesh before buying them, so I know what I'm getting. What's your LFS down there like Scott?
Sorry for all the questions mate, but you don't learn unless you ask:beer:

I wouldn't call it a hobby either buddy more like an addiction :lolspin: There's plenty of snapper down here don't worry ;)

Yea mate Spud was wild, but I'll eventually get him on to some other foods it just may take some time and persistence :) I bought him from my LFS but the good thing is I've never had a QT setup so I've always ordered the fish I want and when they come in I take them from my LFS in the bag that they have been shipped in, less stress I believe as it's not being bagged up by the supplier, shipped to my LFS, then put into the LFS tanks then rebagged and taken home to my tank. had a great success rate doing this and haven't introduced any diseases into either of my tanks. My LFS is really good they built both my tanks and always bend over backwards to get things I'm after :)

And your right there's only one way to find out my find things out my friend!

And I plan to catch some one day. That a good idea to get the fish when they arrive. Do you dip them when you get them or just straight in the tank? What are their corals tanks like?
yup only one way to learn:D

It's served me very well so far with both tanks Fishy :) I don't dip them just straight into the tank. Their coral tanks are good and always looked after

That's what I do with my fish, just straight in, but when I got my fairy wrasse he had some clear lice things that I didn't see, so a week after having him I spotted all these parasites on him so I took him out and freshwater dipped him(one of the most nerve wracking things I've ever done). A week later I noticed more of them on him so into the bath again for 4mins. About another week later I saw that my fire fish had one on him so into the bath he went. After all that trauma to the fish(and me) I haven't seen a single one in two months....touchwood:)

I agree with the right balance of fish being good for a tank and that's what I'll try and do with my tank:)

I hope it's all cleared up now Fishy :) at least you've taken the right steps in trying to rid what he had buddy! Good job

Another beautiful tank Scotty :) Looking forward to seeing Shannon's next photo update :)

Thank you mate :) I can't wait either he's a whizz with that camera of his!
