I have had a few probs with the aptasia myself but have been too cheap to get any shrimp in there yet so I have been resolving each issue by syphoning the aptasia out. All in a day's work I spose. Did commission a emerald crab to nip the bubble algae before it goes everywhere. Keep up the pics!
Thanks djmod45! I've had good luck with peppermints in the past (if you keep them hungry) and I've got an Emerald Crab next on my list.

how does a kalk reactor work? what components are needed for one? is it the same as a calcium reactor that breaks down aragonite with co2?
A kalk reactor works just like the bucket except that it's air tight so you don't get the bicarbonate. The fresh water (RO/DI) is in a bucket and it feeds the kalk reactor, it mixes and allows the kalk that doesn't get disolved to settle to the bottom. The saturated lime water is at the top and that is what gets used for top off. I hope that's clear if not, just PM me and I'll try to clarify.

What do you plan on keeping in it?

Thanks Bob! I'm planning an SPS forest with a clam or two. As for fish, I'm still tossing different ideas around, but it will definately have at least 1 goby, at least 1 blenny, at least 1 wrasse and the rest is a mystery.
