What are you feeding? My 20-day olds are still on BBS,,,,been throwing in some cyclop-eeze this weekend,,,,they seem to like it ok ,, I'm a bit worried about stopping the BBS.
Yea I was pretty shocked, I knew there were well over 100 but I had no idea. I transfered them from the larval tank (pictured) to grow out today 5-10 at a time so I could count them. I did lose 3 from the transfer so it's just a crappy 397 now I really started freaking when I was at 200 and had barely made a dent in them, to come out at 400 exactly was just too perfect
Feeding was rotifers/ bbs/ Otohime A/ cyclops-eeze. They are still on all but the rots. They haven't really figured out the CE yet, they eat it but the main diet is bbs and otoA.
There is another hatch at 5 days which looks equally promising. I've had the pair for 5 years and they've been spawning for at least three. This is the first "real" success I've had, been working at it for over a year getting 30ish at first, then 50ish, then my BIG clutches of 62 and 67. To go from that to 400 in one hatch is awesome, I think it's a combo of me getting better at it and the pair maturing to the point where they are at their peak and totally on top of their game
I think you miscounted and photoshopped the pic to make it look like there's 400.
Why can't people just be honest on RC?
=P =P
Man, That's AWESOME David...way to go, I've been watching your progress and it's been really cool to see how you've become so successful. Congrats and keep up the good work! Hope they make it to market all healthy for you!!!
I have no idea--no way to count until I move them, as David did. no plan to move them until they grow up. so in about 4 months, I'll know about my breeding pair....
That is the bangaii pair I posted about, recently given to me. The last time he spit out 23 and I have them all, about dime size (body). I've only had them about 2 weeks so I think it will be awhie before they breed again. Here is the thread http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=830257
