40C water for removal of parasites

How does someone keep water at 40C for an hour? Will a strong enough heater do that for you?

Think 40C+ is ok for running through a chiller (obviously without chiller on)?

Should be fine running thru a chiller. You need a 1000w heater that just plugs in with no controller (always on) I tried to do this with 750g of water with no luck at all. I would of needed a 3kW heater that cost 2K to accomplish 40c

I have done it in a 10 gallon QT with a 300W unregulated titanium heater.
I would also shoot rather for 50 °C and do at least 2 to 4 hours - 24 would even be better if energy consumption isn't an issue.

In general this is something I would only do for smaller QTs with simple, strictly internal equipment, never for a DT with complicated external plumbing.

i'd rather do for 24 hours just to be sure. i am just hesitant to use bleach or vinegar in the chiller. it isn't possible to get in there and scrub, and unsure if gets completely dry.

i have a pair of 500w titanium heaters, i shall use that.

i guess next question is how do you ensure it doesnt go higher than 50C? I suppose i could use my Apex instead of one of those plug-in controllers...

I would use the apex. The plug in controllers may not go that high.

BTW, if your chiller is for saltwater, all parts that get in contact with the water should be titanium and bleach and vinegar should be fine. When in doubt I would contact the manufacturer.
