410 gal in wall build SW Florida

The finish work is beautiful!

Will you be building a mixed reef, SPS, fish only???

I like how clean your plumbing and fish room looks. Did you install floor drains? How will you be cooling/ventilating your fish room?

Definitely following along your build!

This will be a mixed reef tank. I really love SPS.

The room actually has 2 drains, one in the center of the floor and one at the end of the tank. That is so when I do a water change the tank water will be able to drain directly down the drain. One of the drain lines has a Tee on it that only has to be opened to allow the flush.

The room is air conditioned as well as having a ceiling fan. The AC vent is directly above the tank. There is also an exhaust fan above the tank for ventilation. There will also be a fan directly under the tank to circulate air around the chiller. I am hoping that the chiller will not be needed and I only have it as a backup for overheating. There is also a large window in the room.

This was the process of building the mounting structure for the actuators that will raise and lower my light rack. They work off a remote control and will allow me to raise the lights up when I need to work inside of the tank. Here are a few pics from what was done.

This rack will attach to the actuators mounted to the walls. This will give me the ability to raise and lower the lights when hen I need to work on the tanks. There is a slight offset to the lights due to the way the tank will be aquascaped.

This is an amazing build!! I am tagging along for this. I love the first plumbing pic from today, that must be the most expensive pile of parts that I've ever seen. LOL that alone cost more that most complete setups. Great job planning this.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It's coming along.

WOW what a great build. I am working on an inwall tank. Can you show some close ups of the access panel above the tank?

I will try to get some detailed pics for you as soon as I can. I work the next 3 days but will try to post them up on Monday for you.

Here is the completed light rack.

Thanks, I'll have to check those out. (I do like duct tape though... LOL)

Wouldn't it be better to set up the ballasts horizontally since with the vertical setup the heat will rise and affect the ones at or near the top?

I don't think heat will be an issue. There is enough room between them for circulation and there is a ceiling fan just above them.
