426 Gal L Shape custom

OK, that house looks sweet! But I just gotta know, anything special going in the little garage door to the right???

Right now it will be the dogs home. Gonna put a dog door on the side door that goes to back yard. Eventually id like to see a soap box car in there......we dont have any hills around here though.

Went by the house tonight, got some pics:

depending on how much ground was broken around your foundation especially the "unexcavated" garage...i would hold off on the driveway for a year....

allow the ground to settle out first...otherwise you will be redoing your driveway in a couple years...LOL unless your house has been under construction for over a year already...or you dont get any frost...

By the way ...you house is very nice and tank plans look very exciting too...hope all goes well...

nano reef: id think we should be ok then, the ground was leveled out for construction last may. And we only had frost once or twice over this winter. Deed restrictions wouldnt allow us to not have a driveway for a year, so in order to move in, everything has to be done on exterior.

Alphabet, the tank area is just a black wall full of cabinet boxes, but once something interesting is there, i promise there will be pics

that kitchen is almost exactly the same as mine. Only thing that is different is the higher section of the counter.... in my kitchen it is lower than the rest of the counter. But i have to say the house is coming along nicely. I've been more interested in that than the tank haha :P

Well we decided to invert the tank so it sits flush to the walls. We just couldnt find an L Couch to fit in that room with the tank. No worries on that, tank should be slightly larger now that i dont have to worry about walking room. Now i gotta do a new sketch up

hardwood floors are about half in!!! Most the appliances just got delivered! Going to get some new pics this weekend, its come a long way since the last set of pics.

I need to step up my skimmer design and start ordering parts so I can test it out well before the tank is running to make sure I dont really suck at skimmer designing and it wont cut it.

Also got a QT tank up and running in the office with the dussumerri and beriene tang going though hypo for a month. They started to show some spots in the rock bin so I pulled them. I plan to hypo all new fish before they enter the big system.

This looks great. I, too, am building a new house, but we're still in the framing stage. I'll be following this one closely. Congrats on your new home!

Theres a 6" dussumerri tang as well, hes shy so theres no pics, and keep jokes to a min about my plasitc plants and little sub, but they are sanitary for the fish!

well most everything is on hold at house now, for get this, the city gas inspector to come out. We have been waiting 3 weeks now for a 5 minute visit. So no driveway till then. By the way if it wasnt for the city out here, this house would have been done last September..... They are always fast to take my money, they just dont want to return the favor.

For those of you who don't know, Sean makes beautiful custom acrylic EVERYTHING!! SUMPS, TANKS, AND EVEN BUBBLE WALLS. All are beautiful and meticulate being a hobbyist first. Sean i would like to se the U-Shaped tank as well and not have 90 degree angles but both slanted. That would be awesome!

By the way, I have seen Acrylic Scratch removal kits for use under water, how are these for ease of use and do they work?

they work, just be ready to put some time and labor into it. Since I have neither time nor want to do the labor, I have submersible pneumatic sanders I use.

If you have a few small scratches then the micro mesh kits are nice.

well all the gas is straight now, and pending no rain driveway should go in this week! Finally found a L coach we liked that will go well opposite the tank. Just no where to have it delivered to.......Im pulling my hair out over here for it all to be done

Congratulations! I'm looking forward to seeing you move on.

Fortunately, we haven't had any trouble with inspections, yet. Of course, we did have the six month fight just to get started.... :)
