Oooo. I remember that.

Fortunately, Colorado has a law that says that if an insurance company wants to do business here, they have to offer insurance to any corporation of more than 2 employees without regard to pre-existing conditions and the rate has to be exactly the same across the board.

2 employees = me + my lovely bride. Whew!

THat might just be worth packing the bags and heading west

but, if the democrats get the whitehouse, it looks like we'll be a socialist country anyway :D

The gov't already said I can't smoke anymore...give me some free healthcare and call me canadian

sorry for the political break...now back to tearing apart your house :lol:

BTW, our house has a complete boiler system...so no vents...just myself to be worried about. the family will be safe when I'm playing with asbestos. Just out of curiosity, how much did your abatement cost? I know they are high...i just don't want to start calling anyone local and getting people snooping around my carcinogenic house

Looks like you really have your hands full with this job. But it does look like your going to have one nice house and an even nicer tank setup.

Great Job.

JCTewks--Well, it was a line on the total estimate and I've looked at a whole lot of numbers since then, but I think it was on the order of $20,000-$25,000. But, that included taking off some of the walls, too. (That blow-on texture crap that they used to use is now considered hazardous waste. Sigh. I've always hated blow-on texture.)

220gallon--Not so much, really. I'm being asked to make lots of decisions, but decisions are the easy part. The crew is fantastic. I'm a little worried about the concrete crew as they were a little sloppy, but otherwise people doing first-rate jobs. But, yes, I do hope the house and tank will be nice. I went to a reef conference on Sat. and I really miss being involved. There's a whole lot of cool stuff going on in, say, marine fish and coral breeding and I feel like I'm falling behind the curve.

:) Sounds like you need a new kilt. :) http://www.utilikilts.com/

Actually, my builder saved me the cost of my tank on HazMat cleanup costs alone by shopping around the environmental test a bit. Most of the walls came out just barely (way less than 1%) over the limit for hazardous. He asked for a second opinion and the retests were well under the limit.

Sorry that I haven't kept up but it's been a busy week. Here's what the house looked like on Monday afternoon. They were supposed to pour yesterday afternoon but the engineer asked for some changes, so they're just about to pour right now!
