435 gallon in wall see through easy sps

Leopard wrasses are very cool. I am done adding fish to my tank other than wrasses on my want list. Their kind of like jello.......there's always room for another wrasse.

thanks for stopping by Sir!
other than the list the listed above i am done with fish too.
it seems to me its harder to keep tangs than SPS on my tank

Tank looks awesome. I guess the ich problem has passed? I hope you keep the large sailfin...i find them impressive when they're that big. Nice job!!!

corals

corals

Were these once smaller frags that are starting to grow out or did you purchase them that size. Where did you obtain the majority of your sps?

Thank you
the all the tangs will stay but i let go one of the purple tang to prevent any future aggression even though they been together for years
no more tangs for me and if I get an angel it will be on qt for months to prevent ick outbreak.although I added 7 yellow wrasse without qt for a month because I think I still have ick in the tank (all of my tangs looks spotless since I put this guys in) because this guys can help with picking off parasite from fish.

Hey Lawrence very nive tank been following along as I wait for my 360 gallon. I saw that you wanted to add some leopard wrasses and was wandering how deep your sand bed was as I know they sleep in the sand.

my sand bed mostly is between .5"-1" i have 9 wrasses right now with no problem but i will add a little bit more. i might just get 3 leopard wrasse since i have 7 yellow wrasse already

Water changes.

Water changes.

1st off Great tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay early in this thread I read you do water changes once a year. What do you dose your tank with to replenish trace elements?

Thanks, CaptiveReef

I am a bad example
But yeah I have not change my water since it's been set up. I just dose kalkwasser and calcium reactor before I change to calcium pellets but that's it . Oh I will dose lugol's solution today for the first time and I am thinking of dosing magnesium later after I bought some from BRS
Thank you

Added a couple of small copperband last night to help with parasite or unwanted pest control.someone already did the freshwater bath and qurantine for me for I don't have to.

Debating on getting another tunze 6212 to have a natural wave movement or not

It's getting warm now where I live but I don't want to install my chiller yet because it's under powered 1/3 only and I don't want to run it because my wife will kill me if the electric bill is around 400 again. my temp never reach 82.5 anyway last year my temp went up to 83.5 without any issues but I have mostly easy SPS last year but this year some of my temp sensitive and light sensitive acropora start to RTN as expected. about 5 large colony are affected but hardly noticeable. Although I am very suprised to see the couple of my fav granulosa doing really well knock on woods.
still no water changes
no refugium
No test my water unless major issues are noticeable.
my water remain very clear and most likely have very low nitrate and phosphates because no algae for my tang to eat.
I still do Heavy feeding to prevent ick by preventing aggression and it makes my fish and coral s happy hopefully I can start keeping xenia again so I don't need to run chaeto in the refugium
still debating on the wavebox it's not making anywave by itself and I get pretty good flow inside the tank around 22k +
I know update without picture sucks but I will take some tomorrow

very nice tank. I live around your area (santa clarita). What lfs do you visit around here?

i don't buy anything in santa clarita its too expensive and less selection but try natural wonders in seco/copperhill
i buy corals from local reefer
fish from rainbow in arleta
and equipment from socal tropical in fullerton
YOU ARE WELCOME TO CHECK OUT MY TANK IF YOU WANT

I've been there once and it was pricey. That's where I usually go, Rainbow. They're having their father's day special this weekend too.

Thank you for the invite. I would love to see your tank up close. I'll pm you when I know I can go for sure.

Have you ever been to Vivid?
