48" LED SPS reef

That's the beauty of it, you can just add lights on later and if someone comes out with LED spots lights in good colors!!!!

This is a photo of another one of my tanks with LEDs over it. I'm not trying to keep SPS in this obviously.

This tank I do 50% water changes twice a week.

Just what is in the salt mix other then the K. I find a lot of marine aquarium issues are due to improper dosing and imbalances caused by them.

I could possibly see the need for a dosing pump in the future but I'd like to stay away from it if at all possible.

I like that tank! Cool rock work. I think I'm gonna go for it and I hope I like how it turns out. I'll let ya know and start a different thread.

WOW that is amazing! The aquascape is incredible, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you jciotti.

The tank is lit by two 24" Ecoxotic Panorama LED fixtures and four blue Stunner strips, two of the Stunners came with the fixtures.

Just wondering what you mean by this? Did you add 4 additional stunners or just 2? Also interested in how you added the stunner to the fixture. Is there just one power cord for each fixture? These fixtures are interesting but not much cheaper than the AI modules with less flexability IMO. Just wondering why you picked these over AI. I am serious about LED but haven't seen documented long range success yet so I'm tagging along here.

I actually find the AI fixtures more limiting then the Ecoxotic fixtures.

The Panorama fixture can easily accept more Panorama modules (18" can add 3 more and the 24" can add 5 more). AI you would have to add entire fixtures.

I've heard that Ecoxotic is coming out with small "aim-able" spot lights to add into the fixtures, AI has nothing like that.

Ecoxotic fixtures are easy to move up and down when you want to work on your tank the AI's aren't you have to take them off and I can't stand fixtures that mount on the tank. I have a braceless aquarium for a reason and I don't want to clutter it up with an UGLY fixture.

The Ecoxotic fixtures can be fixed easily if a problem does happen. Each module has an individual driver on it and can be popped in or out easily for replacement. The AI can't do anything close to that if an LED goes out.

Support for the Ecoxotic fixtures are great as well, you can just go onto the website and they have videos and tutorials for everything. The AI website has a picture of a horrible reef tank that looks like it was put together by a 4 year old and no information that I care about.

The Ecoxotic fixture came with a Stunner strip, 3 plug GFCI and a cool little towel thing they call an Ecocham to replace paper towel usage. The AI fixture comes with an ugly look and a high price tag. Not to mention how many AI fixtures it would take to cover my tank, you'd need 4 to get even spread.

Even the box that the Panorama comes in is "green" and the plastic is 100% biodegradable.

I looked at both AI and these for my tank. With the profilux controller it was a no braaner. The AI is leeps and bounds superior in that respect as to what it can do. Also the AI fixtures come with the tank mount but also offer hanging kits. They also slide right out of the way on the rails. Mine should be here soon. I like both your Tanked to get back on track. I know when you buy something and you enjoy it you always feel its the best but he AI is superior for profilux owners for sure.

I know that the Ecoxotic fixture works with majority of the controllers on the market, my system is so simple I don't find the use for one though.

The AI fixtures do have a positive side I guess, it just didn't out weigh what the fixture I'm currently using had to offer for my application.

Thank you for the kind words though and I will look forward to seeing what you do with you new LED fixtures!!!

What I meant by more flexability with the AI modules is that they are dimable and you can control the percentages of blue and white LED's.

The Ecoxotic fixture came with a Stunner strip, 3 plug GFCI and a cool little towel thing they call an Ecocham to replace paper towel usage.

So does each ecoxotic fixture have 3 power cords giving you the ability to ramp the number of LED strips in use up and down or am I reading you wrong?
Also I guess you are saying that these fixtures ship with one addtiional stunner strip. It looks like Premium Aquatics sells the replacement strips for the fixture, which are 12 watts unlike the stunners which are 6 wats. You are obviously sold on Ecoxotic, which I'm glad to hear. I'll do some more research on these.

subscribed! I run 2x vho's over my 30 gallon, and get bashed/ignored for it all the time! What the nay-sayers overlook is that although you dont get the most insane possible growth, your coral is completely healthy and happy. On that note, If I had that kind of crazy growth, I couldnt afford the cal/alk/mag. supplimenting. (If I could afford a reactor, Id be able to afford better lighting) All that being said, Im pretty happy with my coral being very healthy, colored up wonderfully, and still growing pretty fast, some grow 3/4"- 1 1/4" a month.
