4yr Old Cyclop-eeze

I have a can of freeze dried cyclop-eeze that's been in my freezer for about 4 years. Does anyone think it's still good to use? It's been opened, but sealed and stored in my freezer.

If it was sealed and stored in the freezer, I would use it. With freeze-dried, I would use it even if it were kept on a shelf somewhere -- the whole point of freeze drying is that it lasts and can be reconstituted later. Sitting in the freezer sealed it's bulletproof.

It will be fine. Freeze dried food can last up to 25 years. Survival shelters are full of it.

The big question is what problem would it cause if I decide to use it. Will it poison my tank? Does it still have any nutritional value after being in the freezer for 4 years? I appreciate everyone's feedback, but can you provide anything to support your "yes" or "no"? Thanks again!!!!

I doubt you are going to give your fish food poisoning.

I had one of those cyclopeeze sticks that I bought when I made my own fish food -- for the next 2-3 years I occasionally took out what was left of it and dipped it in whatever I had in my fish food cup. My fish never complained.

It won't cause any problems, this is all way overblown and over analyzed. If you're concerned, toss it and get something else. It's freeze dried for crying out loud :lmao:
