50,000 litre tank in a boutique hotel (Bangkok , Thailand)

This is getting so cool, every time I check the thread, you have a new element (like the surge tank!).

For folks who don't know, the surge tank is used to create a large scale flow surge in the tank by filling a large tank up with water, typically positioned higher than the tank and using large diameter pipes to add a sudden surge (like a tidal surge) to the tank. The butterfly valve is to instantly provide the sudden flow.

Do you have a complete design or schematic of the system we can see? I'd love to have a look! (before I come over on holiday of course) :)

With regards to the contractor removing scratches on the acrylic - I presume this means you will be draining down the system and then refilling with salt water?

Now running Hydrowizard ECM 75 using wave mode churning 160,000L/hr .

Running chiller system on fresh water and after a few hours managed to bring the temperature down from 30.4 c to 26.7 c , a lot faster than I have anticipated , without any condensation on the pipes .
So a green light for the chiller system !

I'm in Taiwan, where its humid and hot too. My tank is set at 25c and I really only get condensation when there is a jump in humidity to 80-90%. At 26c I haven't seen any condensation so you should be golden.

Love the surge tank. Definitely a cool add on for such a large and beautiful tank. Also will really help with random flow.

Now draining almost complete . Will add more fresh water to clean it the second time .

Now filled up with another round of fresh water ,leaving it for another 24 hours before draining again .

Yes I will try to post a complete design soon . Yes the system will be drained down at least three times before filling up with salt water.

The more I look at the aquascaping, there more I love it. It is so impressive!!
Looking forward to see the skimmer running with saltwater :)
