Clarions are beautiful fish. An LFS around here picked one up for $4k. It seems to glow from the inside.

Thanks Perry I'm amazed at how well the tank has matured since starting it back up again and the difference that the Radium has made lol I think I'll get another jump in growth rates and a little more colour over the next few weeks as I finally have my Ca and Mg dosing back online! haha Ca has been 300ppm and Mg has been 1050ppm for the last month or two :hmm2: been a bit slack getting it going again... lol

I went to Deer Park on Sunday and bought Dave's last 20kg bag of 3mm coral sand While i was there i found the fish i want and Dave said if you paid for one up front he would try to get another one in for me - before you say anything i want you to know that Clarion angels usually go for $3500- and i managed to talk Dave down to $2800-.
That's $700- i just saved you mate so the right thing to do is split your savings between us since i'm the one who did the hard work. Go and pay for my fish and while you're at the shop give Dave the $350- and i'll use it as store credit.

I used the flash to get non blue pics so the Clarion's eye's look weird even though they're perfectly fine. He's been at the shop for over 5 weeks and is already sold. He eats from Dave's hand and follows you at the glass begging for food like he's already yours............ in real life it's the prettiest fish i've ever laid eyes on, as long as i have mine before xmas i'll be happy thanks Dom

The blue and pink ric was a ridiculous price so you don't need to get that for me Dom.

Hasn't covered the plug yet but it is the slowest grower I have. It's got your name printed all over the plug though so it's yours whenever you want! lol

I can believe you'd try that cheap trick on me! :worried2: You did not talk him down from $3500 because I was there when it came in and Dave said it was $2800 to start with, you're not getting any commissions from me :lol2:
It is easily one of the best fish I've seen in a very long time! I really badly want one and it would be completely worth the price too!

Wow, beautiful Clarion. They are that expensive in Aus? That's crazy. They're less than half that price here, which is still over what I'd want to spend for one. If I ever get a bigger tank though, I'm getting one!

Yep, they're crazy rare and expensive over here so they fetch quite the price tag lol I'd happily spend that money if I had it and the tank to house it!

It's in standby mode lol it looks like we could be moving soon so all of the plans for the tank have been put on hold till I know what's happening, when it's happening and where it's going to!

I'm sure you could have a nice Christmas gift come your way

I've just ordered one.... Last one I had about 4 years ago I did not know much about them and I now know I ran too much flow through it- hopefully this one goes better this time.

Yep, the z-100 from Fish Street

Awesome, hopefully it brings some more goodness for you! I must admit I run my flow higher than recommended lol it should be around the 230-250lph mark and I have it on 300lph but that was from the very beginning when the tank was started with the reactor at that so I think that helps lol what reactor did you get??

I'm making a matrix reactor from 4" sewer pipe and assorted fittings i will 'find' at work tomorrow Dom. It will be driven by a WP-25 and will be the only pulse flow capable matrix reactor on the planet. :reading: I received 4L of matrix magic beans today so i'm joining the space age like the rest of you guys :beer:

Yes I agree lol it was one of the very few times I've jumped on an expensive buy. That is the smooth skin I'm talking about it just so happens that the acro behind it is basically the same colouration! I did take some more, terrible shots of it for you though!


It's my absolute favourite! Something I haven't seen since getting it from UCA though!

Haha well there was a tiny weeny little hyper priced tip that fell off the other day from snail aggression lol it's been glued down and you're more than welcome to have it and out do me on it too haha it's like 5mm long though

haha no filters, just a white balance adjustment Sometimes the reds come out waaayyyy over the top unfortunately but you can always tell when that's happened lol The background in those shots is so orange because it's the sunset coming through the windows and well when your white balance is adjusted for the lighting of a reef tank and normal lights or the sun look utterly ridiculous! lol the acro is true to form in those shots that, I wanted to make sure of it

haha no worries I do like the idea of filters and while they're great from some colours I find that they wash out other took me aggeesss to get using white balance properly lol
