500G (84X48X30)- NOW REAL !

They are getting a little harrassed by the bigger bipartus. But they are eating :-) They are chasing down mysis shrimp and eating out of the water column. So I hope that they make it.

Here is a picture of the other one, and the bigger bipartus.

Sanjay will you used frag disks to mount the corals?

No, where ever possible I pried the corals off the frag discs that they came on. In some cases the corals were so well encrusted over the base that I used those frag discs to mount the corals.

Nice looking corals you scored there Steve, now I need to catch up on this thread to see where you got them from LOL :). Luckliy I am only a page or so behind :D

Well...............we did get shorted about 11 corals. Your Desalwi and Suhausonoi did not come. The others you wanted are among the ones you see.
He did send me a list of corals he has in house if you want to get something else.
valida, horrida, parilis blue, loripes, enchinata, different color milis, caroliniana, tenuis, and....thats weird. He shorted us 3 desalwi but lists them on his in stock sheet. I will get to the bottom of that tomorrow.
Let me know if you want anything else. I will be there the 23rd and bring them with me.

I like to put in my orders now, please ship me only 7, you can saved the rest for yourself, as I am not that greedy, LoL...great looking corals, also what is the size of that tank.

Thanks. The frag/prop tank is about 180 give or take. My display is 375.
I want to put a 120x48x32h but it would take some renovations not to mention talking the better half into it. Thing is, I would be in the same boat as I am now. Doesn't matter how big it is, I will fill it.:)

great choice I would have done the same thing but didn't have enough length. I didn't want to tear more than I don't have to, so I went with 96x48x30. coming out nice, and great setup up you have, approx. how long your system have been up and running?

I saw your post on the tank. Graet size. 48 wide and 30h is awsome. Sanjay spoiled me after seeing his.
The main tank has been up about 16 months but I had alot of smaller ones that I put together to help fill the 375. My little brother got me hooked and the rest is history(along with oodles and oodles of cash). Oh well, can't take it with you.

thanks, surely cant take it with you, way I look at it live only once and enjoy the most of it. bought H&K subcompact USP 9mm stainless steel about 6yrs. ago, truly amazing gun, I wanted to purchase remington 700 titanium, but when I went to walmart tried to special order it, quote this rifle is no longer available..what gives?

those are some really nice pieces, looking forward to seeing pics of them in your tank Sanjay. :D

Rgibson,

It depends on several things:

size of the coral - bigger ones may need more
location - corals on the top of live lock in holes need less copared to corals stuck to the sides of the rock
amount of disturbance a coral may have to withstand - ones that are in stornger water flow need more since they can get toppled easier, if you have buldozing snails and urchins then you may need to use more

I tend to be stingy with its use in most cases, and I can easily do about 20 frags with one package of the epoxy.

I like it, especially the fact that it can be worked under water.
