hi sanjay - are your filter chambers simple compartments with high flow or do you use low flow Phosban-type reactors?

Thanks for sharing so much with us.

Your work is truly inspiring.

I am using 2 of the smaller Deltec phosphate reactors as the flow through filters. One of them has carbon in it, the other phosphate remover. I like them because they are easy to work with (easy open and close) and well made.

awesome growth, and some said you didn't have enough lighting for such a big tank.

can you tell us your feeding schedule, frequency, amount, type, etc? do you target feed?

Carl

Wow! That's some amazing growth. I'm pretty excited to help out at the frag swap on the 12th. See you there!

I usually don't target feed anything, but occasionally I will squirt food that I feed the fish at some of the LPS like Duncans, fungia and lobophyllia. I find that if I do this regularly then the fish know there is food there and start to unnecessarily bother the LPS.

I feed at least 2X in the evening. After I get home from work, and then later at night around 11:00 PM or so. My lights are on from about 2:00 to midnight.

Food for the fish is quite varied and includes - Pacifica Mysis from Jhemco, Cyclopeeze, Artic Pods, Spectrum pellets.. and more recently live blackworms. I feed my fish a lot and vary the food so its not the same everyday. Occassionally I will make my own fish food, but lately I have not been doing so. I have 40+ fish, mostly small fish with high metabolisms so I have to feed a lot. I am also trying to get the fish to be in breeding condition so I can see some of them spawning. Lately the Dispar's are spawning and the Bellus may be too. Hopefully some day the joculators will too.

Once in a while (may be 1-2 times per week) I will throw in some of Reef Nutrition Rotifeast, DT's oyster eggs, and other small particulate food that I may have laying around.

I have been cranking up the frequency to 3 times in the evening, over the last few weeks since I want the fish to get into "spawning mode". Hence the addition of live blackworms to the fish diet. Don't know if its coincidence or not, but in the last 5 days I have had 2 pairs of clownfish spawn... have been waiting for these to spawn for a long time (had these fish for over 3 years).

what type of media is being used in deltec reactors?

ROX 0.8 carbon from Bulkreefsupply.com in one of them, and Warner Marine Phosar HC in the other one.

sorry forgot to ask how much of each media being used?

For the Warner Marine Phosar HC, I use the full 400g container and replace it every 3 months.

For the ROX Carbon, I am using 3 cups, and plan to replace it every 6 weeks. I just started using this carbon.

Do you get the Warner Marine Phosar from Bulk reef supply too...
Was there anything that made this your choice of phosphate control over the other brands??
Thanks

On another note, how often do you deal with the AEFW and what are you doing on a regular basis?
