5017 water level controller led lights flashing

Hi Roger:

I recently ordered a replacement 5017 because my unit was intermittently experiencing the "red led too high and red led too low" flashing at the same time problem. I hooked up the new unit two days ago, and, assuming that salt spray was the cause of the problem, I installed the replacement unit in a covered plastic container. The same problem happened again last night. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

Is there a ballast, pump or any other magnetic field source or EMF interference source near the controller? Does the pump run for a while and then stop and give this error?

My return pump (a PanWorld 200PS) is about 2' away from the controller. Is that too close? I will try to see what the pump is doing when the error happens next.

I have been out of town for a week, but the person who was monitoring my tank confirmed that the same error has been occurring. I returned home yesterday to a cavitating return pump and flashing LED lights on the 5017. I reset the unit, removed the sensor from the holder and placed it in the sump. A few minutes later the alarm sounded again, so I don't think the pump was running for a while when the latest error occurred.

I would try setting up the osmolator in another room. This will rule out any interference from other electronics. Otherwise I would send it in for testing.
