Here are some pics of my new 50g rubbemaid frag tank. Lighting is a 250w XM 20k in a Lumenbright reflector driven by a HQI (m80) ballst. Return pump is a mag7 and power head is 2800 gph Koralia knock off.

Nice setup. Off topic but with all that water how do you deal with humidity? Love how all your systems look nicely plumbed.

I don't do anything. Haven't had any problems for almost a year now. The only time it gets sticky is the few days of the year my furnace or air isn't running.

Very nice setup!

Do you feel the single 250W gives sufficient coverage over the whole tank? I am setting one up currently that I haven't decided on lighting for. Also, what type of frags are you keeping in there? Is it mostly zoa's, or do you have some LPS/SPS also?

It covers a 3'x3' area I would say. I am growing out zoas along with SPS frags from my display.

Ya they work now

Very nice! My buddy and I were talking about setting my 100G Rubbermaid tank up as a frag/prop tank earlier this evening. The way we were talking and coming up with ideas is almost identical to the way you have yours set up...

what is that plant (?) you have on the end by your return?

It is a Salicornia plant . NASA is doing research on them for an alternative fuel source.

thanks. i'd never seen one like that in a salt tank. as far as i can remember, i've never heard of it either. must be time for some research lol.

On the 2nd pic what are you using for the switchs? Did you make them up or buy them? O.... and the set up looks very nice!
